Hi guys,
I’m tentatively setting the date for this double-feature game so that I can organise a venue and give everybody that wants to be involved enough time to be committed to the date. So, if you’re interested, pencil it into your diaries now!
The two games being run are:
Quick Bright Things, 20 players.
Mr. O’Strate is taking his seventh-form drama class through their paces at Raumati High. He’s picked ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ as the play for you all to perform, and he’s taking a… shall we say, immersive approach to rehearsals. Nobody’s allowed to refer to anyone else by anything except their character name while they’re in rehearsals. With only a few weeks to go before the performance, tempers are running high. Oberon and Titania are fighting, nobody’s off-book yet except for Bottom, who is insisting he get a better part, and the lovers are off in their own little world. Life is starting to imitate art, and art has got a twisted sense of humour, it seems…
How Quick and Fresh, 15 players.
Mr. O’Strate is back, with a new play and a new seventh-form class. Rumours have been circling about what happened during Raumati High’s production of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, but there’ll be none of that going on this time - the play for this year is ‘Twelfth Night’, and there’s no love potions or fairies or anything like that in this play, so what could possibly go wrong? Everyone’s a lot more organised this year - most people are learning their lines with ease, but there’s still the dreaded end of year to come, and who knows what will happen to this class when they no longer have high school to feel at home in? As some famous dead guy once wrote, “Some men are born great, some achieve greatness…”
This is the last time that these games will be run in the foreseeable future, in order to build up enough of a community that they can be run again at future events, so if you’ve wanted to pretend to be seventeen again (i.e. not know how to act like a real person) come along - the play’s the thing, after all.
