Sewing crew costumes

With the ever increasing size of the Teonn games, there is a constant call from the GMs to have more costumes made for the crew. Having been through the gear shed, I can say that NZLarps currently has an excess amount of material.

What we need now is people with time to transform said material into wearable garments. Doesn’t have to be pretty stuff, basic peasant clothes - skirts, trousers, shirts etc. We’ll provide material and sewing notions as required.

PM me or register your interest below and I’ll be in touch. Please only volunteer if you’re serious about this, and really do have the time for it. I know most of the sewing people are probably creating their own costumes at this stage, only do crew stuff once your own is complete. I don’t want this to be the cause of a stress meltdown x days out from the game.

Of course with the next game only 3 weeks away, gives people a good deadline to work to. Having said that, if people are interested in sewing after the game (for the next games) then register interest here too and I’ll be in contact.

In wellington we did a gear day where people turned up with their sewing machines (and/or patterns) and we cranked out some basic peasant gear for the crew (tunics, hoods, a few arming caps).

That is an option, and could be organised, however with the limited time before the game, I thought it would be easier for people to just work at their own place, at own time, without the hassle of moving machines and associated bits & bobs.

If there is a demand in Auckland for a more social event/day, then I ask people to create a demand for it here.

I can’t volunteer to sew for this upcoming Teonn but I’ll register my interest for sewing some crew gear in the next six-month block.

im happy to do this, but ive got my own material and sewing machine. can i just bring tunics, pants etc. to the game or do you want it delivered somewhere beforehand?

Sure, just bring them to the game, and deliver them to the crew room, would be great. Thanks Zanni!
