RIP G. Gygax

"Gary Gygax, who co-created the fantasy game Dungeons & Dragons and helped start the role-playing phenomenon, died Tuesday morning at his home in Lake Geneva. He was 69.

He had been suffering from health problems for several years, including an abdominal aneurysm, said his wife, Gail Gygax."

R.I.P. and thanks for D&D

Edited: major change to include bit of article and web location

He must have failed his Save vs Death

Getting D&D for Xmas back in 1982 was a total revelation in gaming for me. Plus, his books were enjoyable too.

Oh wow. :frowning:

R.I.P. :frowning:

He will be remembered well.

Rest in peace, great master.

You will be remembered always.

Same for me, I had to BEG to get D & D for Xmas as my mother was convinced D&D was the devil and i was going to run off with a naked Satanic cult.
Kept looking - never found them :frowning:

RIP Gary

A sad day for roleplayers everywhere. Even D&D never had a cure for dying of natural causes, you never know what you have on life span role…

So long, and may the sound of die hitting the table be a balm on his soul.

First ed D&D was the bomb when I was at school, a sad day for sure.
BUt at least he has a nice legacy as the game continues on.

I am off to bury a d20 in his honour.

I think a World Gary Gygax day seems befitting for the man that catapaulted our passtime almost into the mainstream and acceptible.

All Hail Gary… The man behind the legend
