That’s a relief. I’d been going off the national deadline, and worrying about s16 of the constitution. But I guess the business is the election of the committee, not the specific candidates.
And OTTH, its not exactly compatible with the postal voting provisions.
Candidate Statement - Regional Marketing Officer and Secretary
Hi, I’m Idiot/Savant. I’ve been nominated for two positions, for which there will be a vote, so I suppose I have to do one of these things. I’m happy to serve in whatever position people want me in.
For marketing officer, I keep an eye on what’s going on in Wellington, and I’d like to move to more regular updates with a longer focus so GMs can plan ahead and avoid clashes. The committee is also doing a big marketing push at Aethercon next month, and I’ll be actively looking for other groups we can recruit from. Wellington will be hosting the SF NatCon in July next year, and Anna will be a fan guest of honour, and I’m hoping we can leverage this as well.
For secretary, I’ve been sitting in on meetings for the last year, and I’m familiar with the committee process and with the society’s rules. I’m organised enough to do the job, and I’m sure I can find a way around my illegible handwriting for keeping the minutes.
