Re-enacment club identity in LARPs

Cameron, there aren’t any sword club tabards in the nzLARPS gear. There are tabards but none of them have re-enactment heraldry on them. The tabards and surcoats that occasionally turn up at our events are people’s personal kit.

Stand corrected I thought I had seen some in there over the years… My bad
Some clarification and my perspective.
I have read the AS&S forum and from what I can tell they have grumbled and discussed the issue, but are not really that fussed.
This probably ends the issue right there.
The surcoat in question is mine and I lent it to Blair.
I bought the surcoat personally, it was not gifted in any way. It belongs to me.
I understand the sensitivity various groups have to heraldry etc.

I do not think this issue needs to be blown out of proportion.
No worries.

I’m the current instructor for AS&S, and within AS&S we talked it over, and while we would prefer that it wasn’t used, we concede that it is a persons private property, and that they can do with it as they wish.

The discussion became more about our brand, and our control (or lack there of) over it.
