Ahh theres nothing quite like hacking your way through and endless torrent of zombies or animated skeletons. On the flip side theres nothing quite like or as amusing as dragging your left leg around muttering "BRAINS!"
Except for when or course the brave adventuers stop for a chat and fail to see the zombies approach until one of them is lying twitching on the ground as the zombies attempt to rip out their brains! And its happened morev than once!
Come along and join in the excitement. Ps of you have some costuming for zombies and skellies post a pic so we can steal your ideas.

Is this event going ahead? I’ve heard nothing back.

Hi Guys
This event is going ahead at 1pm on the 4th of Feburary, if you wish to attend please contact Alista ASAP

questwaikato@yahoo.com

Don’t forget us here in Hamilton, if you are keen at experiencing the Quest system please get a hold of Alista

Next game Feburary 4th@1pm…

Note: Quest is in the process of rebuilding its infrastructure so bringing your own gear to the game would be appreciated. Foam latex weapons are not currently approved unless you can demonstrate safe usage. Boffer or shaped campmat gear is preferred, all edges need be rounded.
(Due to a dryad being bruised by users of said weaponry in the past)

Yes, we are still playing, weather permitting.

If you see two or more people building an ark, then I have probably gone home. Same goes for unexpected solar eclipses, otherwise I’ll see you there.

Alista

“As they slowly shuffled towards us it was clear these foul abominations were indeed zombies, groaning slightly in the torment that is undeath. Four of the walking carcasses, armed with rusted and obscene weaponry, or with hooked and clawed limbs, their own even ripped from their bodies and weilded as clubs. I nodded briefly at my companion, a paladin and a marquis, our intent the same as we leapt foward to join the melee, and the Elf started to rain arrows into their midst on the flank. Within seconds the rotted creatures lay at our feet and the only thing left to do was remove their heads and boot them into the shubbery.” - Verdan Bearclaw (Druid)

A successful game completed in Hamilton this afternoon by any measure of the word. Many many Undead slain, extraplanar undead vanquished (after a quick trip to the village library to identify our foe) a demon incarcerated (yep thats right captured) and all ending in a trial with charges of treason laid against a Prince of the Realm, in which of course he was cleared.
A brave adventurer was banished from the realm (injustice served) for avaricious thoughts (guilt at a trial is not so useful but all other players pardoned and excused in full). A final twist was for the Prince to accept service with the Druids guild for the term of 2 years so that the Prince’s honor can be restored by the purity of service to nature.

Well done to the fine Orklanders who attended and played their parts well, the roleplaying was quite well done.
And thanks again for making the effort to come down to join us here in the Realm of Hamiltonia.

Jared

Ah the sunny land of Hamiltonia, long had we journeyed from the shores of the distant Orcland seeking adventure and riches.

An awesome game by any standards, we were hired by a local noble who wanted to tour the lands, as we traveled with him he asked pointed questions about injustices and despotic rulers, and how we felt about such things. To add to this we faced hordes of shambling undead, helped a local lady retrieve her lost treasure she had mislaid in the wilds, battled foul extraplanar undead who proved impervious to nearly all means that we possessed to destory them, and then got accused of treason by association when our lordship was called to task for the same crime. I wish you could have seen our faces when he revealed himself as the prince of the realm. alas one of our party , the stalwart dwarf was banished when the paladin detected residual evil about him, but the rest of us were pardoned of guilt, and released.

all in all a busy and productive day, i made 510 gold and have a chnace t learn some new skills from my guild.

The group form auckland consisted of Myself, Ange , Alexcia and Erin; with erin and myself in one party, Alexcia in the second with the paladin and the druid, and ange crewing for the bad guys.

Roleplaying was excellent, everyone made a sincere effort to stay in character at all times, even when they werenlt sure of what the heck was going on. Though i think i gave a few people a scare when i took a fireball to the neck and went down clutching at it and roleplayed being badly burnt, sorry for scaring you guys i just got caught up in the moment.

Combat was an absolute pleasure to engage in, the hits were well controlled, though it did take a few minutes to get my head around the damage system. once they patiently explained things to me it became second nature by the second combat.

the magic system was awesome and easy to understand, i especially liked Alexcia becoming the elemental she summoned, the whole swooping aacross the ground with the elemenatl costume looked really impressive

If any one else from Auckland/Orcland is interested in a fun game of live roleplaying in a fantasy setting with its onw unique background and sense of humour then I thoroughly recomend making the trip.

Trust me i’ll be back for more myself.

best part is we didn’t die, though we came damn close several times.

Thank you to all the quest waikato team for a great day out, it was well worth the two hour trip to find the game and i look forward to playing some more of Marrick of Orcland.

Module Report : Undead Noon
Date : 4 Feb 2004
Location : Donny Park, Hamiltonia
Players Present : 15

The day was overcast and gloomy with occasional light rain. It did not rain heavily until after the module was over and we were under cover, perfect day to find and hunt zombies.

One group of adventurers voulunteered for a zombie hunt while the rest agreed to escort nobility around the town.

Outcomes

The first group succefully captured the demon Vodka Martini who was responsible for summoning all the zombies. Zero casualties. Mission totally succesful and beyond expectations.

The second group were tried for high treason against the King. Two of their number were found not guilty but the third was found guilty of subversion as an invading power. After heated appeals he was banished from the realm of Hamiltonia. Appeal is pending. Mission succesful?

Thanks to all those that played and thanks to those brave adventurers who sailed all the way from Orcland. May they for ever keep the Orcs away from Hamiltonia.

Next module : about 3 - 4 weeks time. It will be synched with O Week at Waikato Uni.

Heh, and as said Demon, I had a great time. Thanks to Alista and the others who gently prodded me and reminded me about this. Despite myself, I can see myself easily getting back into LRP in a big way.

You did a great Demon, especially when they realised you were evil and you had to teleport out of there.

It is spooky how much you look like your avatar

Next time we’ll give the demon a pouch… the demon knows why he needed a pouch… demon did good however in waiting til party trying to kill him was close enough to touch before launching area spells… next time we give you a 1 handed weapon… so can fight and cast… next time demon be shown some hideous tactics on how to harrass a party… next time then you maybe not get caught by Druid (hehe)

Jared :smiling_imp:

And next time, I may even get the blue Air elemental costume. Though being a flame-colored one was amusing, despite my weak mage cowardace. 8)

Mage did well considering. 1 or 2 more games and you shall weild enough power to ensure your safety! Plus if you have handy druid around you can always draw some more magic from handy druid using ritual. Elementalist plus druid very handy team.
And its not really running away… tactical withdrawl makes sense… and you weren’t the only one to run (or walk briskly away)
