Ah the sunny land of Hamiltonia, long had we journeyed from the shores of the distant Orcland seeking adventure and riches.
An awesome game by any standards, we were hired by a local noble who wanted to tour the lands, as we traveled with him he asked pointed questions about injustices and despotic rulers, and how we felt about such things. To add to this we faced hordes of shambling undead, helped a local lady retrieve her lost treasure she had mislaid in the wilds, battled foul extraplanar undead who proved impervious to nearly all means that we possessed to destory them, and then got accused of treason by association when our lordship was called to task for the same crime. I wish you could have seen our faces when he revealed himself as the prince of the realm. alas one of our party , the stalwart dwarf was banished when the paladin detected residual evil about him, but the rest of us were pardoned of guilt, and released.
all in all a busy and productive day, i made 510 gold and have a chnace t learn some new skills from my guild.
The group form auckland consisted of Myself, Ange , Alexcia and Erin; with erin and myself in one party, Alexcia in the second with the paladin and the druid, and ange crewing for the bad guys.
Roleplaying was excellent, everyone made a sincere effort to stay in character at all times, even when they werenlt sure of what the heck was going on. Though i think i gave a few people a scare when i took a fireball to the neck and went down clutching at it and roleplayed being badly burnt, sorry for scaring you guys i just got caught up in the moment.
Combat was an absolute pleasure to engage in, the hits were well controlled, though it did take a few minutes to get my head around the damage system. once they patiently explained things to me it became second nature by the second combat.
the magic system was awesome and easy to understand, i especially liked Alexcia becoming the elemental she summoned, the whole swooping aacross the ground with the elemenatl costume looked really impressive
If any one else from Auckland/Orcland is interested in a fun game of live roleplaying in a fantasy setting with its onw unique background and sense of humour then I thoroughly recomend making the trip.
Trust me i’ll be back for more myself.
best part is we didn’t die, though we came damn close several times.
Thank you to all the quest waikato team for a great day out, it was well worth the two hour trip to find the game and i look forward to playing some more of Marrick of Orcland.
