Demo against AgResearch plans for transgenic animal experiments:
3-4.30pm Friday, Halsey Street, The Viaduct
SAFE is holding a demo this Friday to alert the public to the dangers of AgResearch’s GE applications presently at ERMA.
In these applications AgResearch is asking for the continuation and expansion of its transgenic livestock programme. AgReseach intends to mix genes from different animals, a process which creates animal deformities, and new risks to human health, the environment and our reputation. The development of GM animals makes them prone to increased levels of suffering.

AgResearch is looking for good publicity by releasing new fabrics as part of NZ fashion week this Friday afternoon, and it will be a good chance to raise awareness of its GE business too.
This is short notice and during the week so I understand if you can’t make it to this one. However if you have time please consider doing it as it is an issue of real importance.
