Plate Armour for sale

I’ve got some 0.8mm stainless steel sitting around and it’s too light for real armour, but it’d be fine for costume/larp armour. So, I’ve started a set of leg armour in 0.8mm stainless. They will be similar, but not quite as flash as the ones I’ve made for myself:

I’m planning to finish them at Sanctury (when I play an armourer). There is a reasonable amount of work in them and I’m after $150.00 unstrapped (i.e. all the metalwork will be finished and they’ll just require strapping). I’ll provide all the rivets, buckles and leather required to strap them and explain how to finish them. Strapping normally takes another hour or two for most people and it’s usually not economic to pay me to do it, because it’s dead easy and I’m skilled labour

Anyway, if you’re interested, bring some money to Sanctury and have a look at them. I’m also happy to consider trade. So, if you can sew well, I’m always after medieval clothing and would happily exchange these for a well made medieval garment.

If you’re after Very Heavy Armour (Full Plate) this will be an excellent starting point for you!

Note: 0.8mm stainless is too light for NAAMA or SCA type combat. It’ll be fine for LARP combat or just costume armour. They also weigh stuff all. They’re my size and I should fit people from 5’4" to 5’8.

…best of all it won’t rust, because it’s stainless…

I’ve mostly finished one leg. I’ll make the other one at the game.

Thats some pretty shiny armour, thats what that is. It brings back memories of a Sait Catherines fair i spent with the SCA at moto moana one year with my late wife, and marvelling at Mattew Mole and his shiny suit of blinding armour. It might have just been me though.

It’s 'ero armour it is. As untarnished as Paladins reputation!

I have this leg armour for sale.

One leg is assembled, one is cut out with the knee welded up.

They’re rough as, but only need to be riveted together and strapped to be finished and working.

They’re too light ’ nasty for reenactment, but probably fine for larp.

I’m happy to swap them for a six pack…

I have some brews kicking around…that I’d be willing to let go (a choice of brews infact)

How big are they?
You going to the joust so I can try them on before I buy?

I’m going to the joust but I don’t have a suitable container for them (lots of loose bits of steel). They’ll fit a short slim leg. Only one is assembled at this time.

I drink pretty much anything.

I’ll take them. If they dont fit I wont be out to much (some beer I probably wasn’t going to drink) and 'sides I may donate them to the society if they don’t fit.

Cool.

I’m away for the next couple of weekends, so you’ll want to get hold of me Monday - Thursday in the evening.
