Who’s interested?

I think I have to.

… And what luck I’m just finishing up a pirate coat!!!

I think I have to go too!

Not to put anyone off, but I think the support bands might be a heck of a lot heavier than Alestorm is. For some reason the support bands are listed as TBC, but from what has been going around, one of them in particular, Sinate, is a reasonably heavy death metal band (and the other one I’m thinking of, Just One Fix, is still heavier than Alestorm). At least that will be the case if I’m recalling who is going to be there correctly - its entirely possible that I’m conflating this with some other gig that has been advertised of late. I figure forewarned is forearmed.

Anyway, to anyone who does end up going, have fun!

Hehehe Sinate are pretty cool. They are not that heavy, probably only a 9 on the Moh scale.

Will have to check my calendar (and wife) to ensure I am free but I would be keen.

While I, as someone who regularly listens to death metal, might not find them too heavy, people who aren’t fans of the sub-genre, and turn up expecting nothing heavier than Alestorm could be in a for rude shock.

I also stumbled across this weird song yesterday on YouTube. I didn’t particularly enjoy it myself, but I figure someone on here may get a kick out of it.

The definition of 9 on the moh scale is

Lighter death metal or harder thrash metal. You’ll also find a lot of the less abrasive ‘true’ black metal here. Here is about where you start to get singers growling or screaming for most of the song. Lyrics may be very violent or just generally extremely dark. This is the last zone where you are likely to find hardcore punk that doesn’t have a substantial metal or noise infusion. This is also about where metalcore starts to transition to deathcore (which also begins around this level).

That seems fairly accurate to me :-0)

I hadn’t even thought about the supporting acts. How unfortunate, I’m really not interested in Death or Thrash Metal so I think I’ll just stick with Youtube Alestorm.

Sounds like an alround good time to me.

Its rather unfortunate that there seems to be a tendency to poorly match the local support bands to the main attraction around these parts.
