Hey guys,
I know this has probably already been documented, but how does one go about making a Pegged Leg/Foot for when your appendage has been unfortunately cut off in character?

Don’t consider strapping your leg up. Loss of circulation is bad news.
Maybe make a fake wooden or metal leg costume from foam, that you slide your lower leg inside of? It couldn’t be a “peg” shape, it would need to be shaped to conceal your foot. For a noble character, it could be made to look like an elaborate articulated brass lower leg or something.
I’d go with Ryan’s suggestion of making an “artificial limb” rather than a peg.
Get a boot, say, paint it gold to look like metal. Find a leg brace. Connect the two somehow and call it a fake leg.
The other option would be a theatre style pegleg, which is a typical peg shape with a leather cup or cradle that straps around your bent knee, so you’re kind of kneeling on it. the catch is you end up with your foot trailing out the back which can be a little off-putting, but if dressed properly ie in black, and with a handy cloak, most people could probably overlook it well enough. Plus, if things get physically treacherous or you’re about to fall over, you can put your foot down
Have decided to go with the Brace and fake foot suggestion. Am thinking of possibly using this brace as part of it, once I hear about the material and figure out its possible paint-ability if need be:- trademe.co.nz/health-beauty/ … 609055.htm
Any suggestions on the type of boot/shoe to be looking for to use? Also how would I go about attaching everything to each other and paint suggestions?
