Paddywhack bringing in Forgotten Dreams

Hey folks,

To further my quest to make cool larp gear from all over the world available here in NZ, Paddywhack is going to bring in a shipment from Forgotten Dreams Design-Studio this month.

You can check out their range of gear on the Paddywhack site:

Forgotten Dreams are based in Germany, and they’re one of the world’s biggest larp manufacturers. Their weapons are durable and light weight.

Here are just a few examples from their range. Prices are without the NZLARPS member discount.

Medieval Knight Sword - Long
$115.99
These are a great option for those looking for an inexpensive, durable option for regular combat training.

Chaos Devil Sword
$188.99
Because nothing says bad-arse like a skull with fangs.

High-Elven Sword
$204.99
I see your pretty gem and raise you some darling little golden angel wings. Comes in 4 gem colours.

Mercenary Hammer
$191.99
When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like an orc’s head.

Medieval Grail Knight Axe
$203.99
Sometimes the best way to demonstrate your knightly virtue is by hitting people with a honking big 105cm axe.

Mythodea Aqua Sabre
$226.99
Pass me my special sword, squire. Yes, the glowing blue one.

If you want to be in on this shipment from Forgotten Dreams please make your orders via the Paddywhack website by Thursday 21st March, which is 12 days from now. It should be here early in April. I’m not sure when I’ll next be ordering again from them.

Cheers,

Ryan

Starsteel for Sabbat! ~ the last one there

Very tempted by the Celtic longsword…veeeery tempted

This one?

Looks good. They have some nice shields in the Gaelic range too, that I haven’t gotten around to listing on my site:

Gaelic round shield green - 75cm
$327.99
Also comes in red, blue and wood colours.

Gaelic round shield Morfang - 75cm
$405.99
There are two other nice patterns in brown and green.

How much are the gladius?

I’ve just added them to my site, along with the rest of the Ancient blades I didn’t have already.

Note that yourself and some others had some Forgotten Dreams stuff from me before, and I think the prices were higher. That was via a distributer. Now I’m going direct, and ordering in bulk, which is how I’m getting the prices down.

Ancient Roman Gladius
$115.99
85cm long, also comes in a 60cm “short” version for $94.99.

Ancient Sword
$115.99
85cm long, also comes in a 60cm “short” version for $94.99.

I also really like the styling of the Falcatas from the Ancient range with the curved, single edged blade. Although they call it a falcata, I think it’s intended to represent the similar Greek kopis just as much. Either way, it’s a cool-looking blade that would work well for various historical or fantasy cultures.

Ancient Falcata
$105.99
60cm long.

Ancient Falcata Alexander
$115.99
60cm long

I’ve had a few people ask how to get their 20% NZLARPS member discount with Paddywhack.

The easiest way is for you to register on the Paddywhack website. When people register, I check if they are an NZLARPS member in the membership database, and then mark NZLARPS members on the Paddywhack website.

Once I’ve marked you as an NZLARPS member on the Paddywhack website, when you go to check out the total will include the 20% discount.

If you order some other way I’ll apply the discount manually - you won’t miss out. It’s just convenient to let the Paddywhack website do the adding up and apply the discount, and its maths is better than mine.

Ooh I love that falcata/kopis. Now, to think of the perfect excuse to justify getting it…

Last day for this Forgotten Dreams shipment is this Thursday.

I’ve added the Gaelic round shields I listed above to the Paddywhack site, and also Ancient round shields and Ancient Roman shields, which are both pretty cool.

Another good reason to order via my website is that it automatically reduces the available stock on the site, so others know straight away what’s in stock. Whereas I tend to be a bit more forgetful about doing that manually.

I haven’t quite put this order through yet, so you can still order things for this Forgotten Dreams shipment for the moment.

I’ve sent this order off now. Wake up, Germany, I know it’s 2am but you need to get up and process my shipment.

In this order are 12 long swords, 6 mid-length swords, 6 daggers and short blades (it’s a fuzzy distinction) and 4 hafted weapons. Looking forward to seeing lots of cool new stuff when it arrives.

The Forgotten Dreams gear has finally arrived in NZ. The processing and shipping took way longer than I would have thought, nearly four weeks.

Now just need to get it through Customs and into people’s hands.

I’ve now got the Forgotten Dreams stock in hand and ready for sale, you can see what’s in stock here:

The level of detail on their gear is impressive. I gather they use computer-controlled routers (robots, basically) to carve the foam, and you can see it in the fine detail and consistency especially on the sword and dagger hilts.
