OWBN Hamilton

Hey is there still a One World By Night game down there? There used to be 2 but im wondering if they are still around…

Anyone Know?

I believe so.
Will find out.
Definitely 2 groups…

Jared

Any info on those groups?

Sorry Cameron
The person who I thought could help me out hasn’t been to a game in a while and doesn’t have the contacts anymore.

He was the only guy I knew from that crowd.
Good luck

Jared

There used to be a OWBN group called Danse Macabre in Hamilton, and the contact was Dunx on dunx@owbn.org

There was also a Hamilton by Twilight, contact was Micheal Landman on landman@paradise.net.nz

They may know what the current scene is, even if those groups aren’t playing now.

Shouldnt nzLARPs know or be in the process of finding these sorts of people out? Isn’t that the idea - to unify LARP in New Zealand. They should be appealing to dungeon and dragoners for a real life option.

(I will post this on the other one as this links threads)

NZLARPS goal is to support and grow all larp in NZ. So yes, we’d like to know if these groups are still around and if there’s anything we can do to help them.

Yep, it’s in the process! Got contacts?

Well, the main reason I wanted the info is that, OWBN is supposed to be able to have interaction between cities in the surrounding area a unified larp where your character can travel back and forth and interact with people in other games via email, phone etc…and we used to have that in the past but recently not so much…

And a few of the players (myself and one of the torries) have been brandishing around the idea of holding a ball and invinting the kindred from down south (if they are camirilla loyal) or some other similar event.

Right now I think the thing is that the NZ games arn’t officialy part of OWBN, but all we realy need is to foster a One New Zealand By Night amoungst the NZ games as unlike other countries its harder to drive to games in other countries

Thanks for the contacts…

When last I heard, hamilton by twilight had pretty much gone on permanent hiatus, as for Danse Macabre, they shifted their city focus to Corromandel some years back and have been continuing, though recent reports suggest they are switching to the new requiem rules for larping.

The people you should be contacting are Shay McCauley and Robbo, at this time probably Robbo.

I currently don’t have either of their email addresses, though others here might.

Is this a bad thing i wonder? masquerade has been going for well over fourteen years in its current form. perosnally i feel the new rules do address some of the issues that the older rule raised, and provides some of us older players a chnace to start fresh, rather than try again under the older set and feel as if its the same old, same old all over again.
further it does allow a smoother intergartion of other aspects of the world of darkness to interact on a more equal footing.

But the best part is, its all new stuff, so we all have to learn the world and its rules again. making every experience a new one
