NZLARPS Wellington Regional AGM, 11th September

Sunday 11th September - NZ Larps Wellington AGM - Northland Memorial Community Centre - 1 PM

Members of NZLARPs are invited to attend the AGM for the regional committee. This will include reports from the committee on the past year, our aspirations for the coming year, and elections for all positions: Regional Director, Treasurer, Secretary, Gear Officer, Marketing Officer and Ordinary Members (2).

This is an opportunity for members of the society to come along and find out what we’re doing to make and grow the LARP scene in Wellington, and have some input into where we’re going. We hope to see lots of you there.

Alas, I am posting my apologies as I am busy at this time/date.
All the best, I strongly advise people turning up, its not just a boring meeting, its a great place to bounce off ideas and chat about how awesome LARPing is and discuss the next year of Wellington LARPs.

Self Nomination? I nominate myself for Secretary… however, I can’t be at the AGM. DOH!
Can you put me down for electronic voting?

We’ve always allowed self-nomination. The constitution says there must be a nominator and a seconder, and they must be two different society members, but it doesn’t specify that the nominator can’t be the candidate.

Not sure how consistent we’ve been on the nominations and seconds having to be presented to the Secretary in writing. We’ve always treated online nominations were informal though - indications that the person intends to formally nominate.

The constitution could do with some friendlifying for the modern age. It inherits many clauses from constitutions written in an age where everything was done in person or by writing on paper.

That’s good to know; we weren’t too sure.

Well, if its at the meeting, it can just be written down on the spot anyway. But the need to collect bits of compressed vegetable matter marked with scratchings of graphite is a bit weird in an internet society.

How long is the AGM going to take, what’s the best guess?
Cause I really ought to be training for the single-sword tournament in two weeks.
