The NZLARPS committee has decided to move to an online database for storing membership details.
While I’m not on the committee this year, I’m still keen to help out where possible. So I’ve coded a membership database for the NZLARPS website, that users can update their own details in.
Even if you’re not a member of the society it will be useful to register in the database, because the system will be expanded to allow for adding and editing of events, and online registration for events, in the not too distant future.
To register in the database please go here and click “register”:
You can also reach the database from the “Database” link in the top menu.
Committee members will be able to see all users details, which is useful for administration and things like mailing out Immersion. Right now general users cannot see each other’s details, but when the event registration function is added an event organiser will be able to see relevant contact details of users who have registered for the event. I also envision people who are registered for a larp being able to enter their character details so that they are accessible online by the larp’s organisers (like the Mordavia character database). Your password is encrypted in the database, it cannot be retrieved by anyone.
If all the current NZLARPS members could add themselves to the database that’d be great, and anyone else who’d like to register now is welcome as well. If you are a current member then after registering you can click the relevant button at the bottom of your profile to have your membership status recognised.
