NZLARPS on twitter

So … I notice that NZLarps has a twitter account (@nzlarps, for those who couldn’t guess). Is this active? Does it get used for announcing games, submission deadlines, reminders, etc… ? Or does it just lie there, languishing in the aether …

(Which is to say - why does NZLarps have a twitter account, and yet not use it? It’s not that much worse than facebook …

Ooooh, Now following NZLarps - feel free to follow me, RoseyNZ. Beware, some content is R18 :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for reminding us, Igni. We got it so we could live-tweet one of our AGMs but I’ll talk to the National Marketing Officer and see if we can make better use of it

I have no moral or cultural stand against Twitter, I think we’ve just used our FB account more because the folk that make the FB events (usually me) are more FB savvy than Twitter savvy. I just haven’t got into Twitter. I think I’m too long winded for microblogging.

I’m not a huge twitter fan myself, but particularly for those with smartphones, it is a nice data-light way of keeping up with things. Does facebook have a twitter gadget these days? It may be possible to post the feed on the nzlarps facebook page also.

For those with Smartphones (myself included) Facebook status updates are just as good as Twitter and allow you to also look at the rest of any threads that develop for further infomation. Much better

My Twitter feed goes directly to my facebook status update. I find that twitter is a great way for tracking various people and getting quick updates. Facebook has so much more stuff that is great to look at, but requires more interaction from the account holders. I can follow my favourite poker players, paintballers, companies etc without problems, but facebook requires friend acceptance etc.

There’s a Facebook group?

I have no interest in Twitter. Find it just too limited and what from what I’ve seen so far the posts tend to be a bit too stream-of-consciousness/verbal diarrhea for my taste.

It depends who you follow. I follow a lot of people from the web industry and I see links to a lot of good articles posted there. It’d be good to hook Both the nzLARPs Twitter and Facebook accounts up together so only one would have to be posted on to update the other.
