NZLARPS AGM 2012 - National Committee Nominations

Candidate Statement - Anna Klein for National Treasurer

Hello, my name is Anna, and I would like to continue being national treasurer in order to utilise my knowledge of nzLARPS’ financial history and financial procedures to use in working with the regional secretaries and the society accountant to keep nzLARPS’ documentation up to date and meet our compliance with IRD requirements. I am very familiar with the current procedures and the current state of the accounts, as well as having detailed knowledge of the past six or so years of financial history. I have run events through the society’s financial machine since early 2007, in both the Auckland and Wellington financial regions.

I genuinely think one of the most wonderful things that nzLARPS provides is the financial security for people to be able to run events without fear of incurring personal loss. As treasurer, I would see my role not only as maintaining the financial integrity of the society but also making the society’s financial resources and information available to members. I see myself as being approachable for advice on just how to get it all done with no hassles.

If re-elected, I’d like to continue the work I’ve been doing so far, but also expand on it. I’d like to create better documentation for project applications and post-event actuals, as well as making online filing available to the records are readily accessible. I’d also like to organise the society to shift banks, after years of terrible customer service from the BNZ in a way that does not disadvantage the society or its members.

I have the experience, the knowledge and the passion for the society’s vision to get this job done. Please re-elect me as national treasurer.

Candidate Statement - Scott Kelly for National President

After some thought, I am standing again as National President. This year has been a very busy and difficult year. There were obviously the unprecedented large problems that we have had to deal with, as well as a number of smaller issues arising at different events. But there have also been a lot of positive things that have happened this year as well. There has again been significant growth and many great events and games run. I would like to keep working with the rest of the National Committee to ensure that NZLARPS continues to go from strength to strength.

I have a calm personality and the ability to communicate with a variety of groups. There are some more changes and improvements I can bring, but importantly I believe in transparency in what we do and listening to what the members are wanting.

I have a lot of passion for this hobby and this Society, and think we do a lot to help grow LARPing in New Zealand and provide a hobby many people can enjoy. I hope that as President I can see in even more growth and improvements over the coming year.
