My wife and I are new to Wellington but are both veteran role players who are looking to meet like minded individuals who might be into a bit of Vampire The Masquerade, palladium , D&D or other RPGing. =)
We are happy to slot into someone elses game or I am more than happy run Vampire The Masquerade ( guaranteed to be a life changing event for all!! ) =p

Firstly, you can try NZRaG, which is focused more on Wellington and less on larp.

Secondly, there’s a small con, ConFusion, coming up in early August. It’s a good meat-market for local gamers. If you can’t make that, then next con is Kapcon in January (oh, and if you’d like to run a game…)

Thanks! We are interested in almost everything

(da wife)

Thank you for that!!

Am waiting for administrator approval for NZRaG LoL

We’d be happy to meet people for coffee on Cuba Street almost anytime too!!

Hi!

What Idiot (I hate that name) Mr. Savant says, we have a number of conventions which are a great place to meet people.

If you offer to run a game on NZRag, perhaps a short run thing to start with you should pick up some interest.

There is quite a lot of Larping going on in Wellington currently and is a great place to meet people. Lots of different Genre’s too something for everyone (who fancies giving larding a go that is).

Never run a LARP game but have played in a few Live vampire games a long time ago… So I guess I could try and run something.
Maybe with some help. Actually I have a pretty novel sci fi scenario under development.

I am more focused on a kind of hybrid model - a smaller intimate group of players who can role play and sustain long slow burn style campaigns.
For example I ran a VtM Game that ran for over a decade. I make my players cry. And they love it. =p LuLz

Which larp would you advise us to join? We are a bit low on costumes at the moment (however I’ve got some of my steampunk stuff)

Guys you wouldn’t need to run a Larp, just take part in one, most of the Larps are open to everyone, great place to meet people.

This thread here lists what’s going on, although needs updating, which I’ll get on to ASAP…

If you wanted to run something a short series to test the water seems to work well, people are very friendly here.

For a short series - I am developing a science fiction scenario of my own which will work very well for 3-5 players and is very episodic.
Everyone wakes up as clones on a starship so no prior knowledge is required. =) Lots of surprises

We really need a good venue. Our place is not suitable for gaming sadly. =(

The Victoria University Games club meets every Friday from midday to whenever we give up and go home. We’re in the Student Union Building at Vic Uni. We have lots of table-top games and board games. And there are gaps in the Alien game tonight!
