Names that make you think

omg, I would never think that… Really…

And people told me that Alista is a guy, not a girl, while I when first saw that name on forum thought it’s a girl…

Ok, just in case to avoid confusion: I’m a girl and I’m real…

I first thought that Articulate Aphasia is a girl too, it’s all because I’m from a culture where modern names finishing with “a” are in most of cases female ones.

If I ever address anyone here with a wrong gender identification - please excuse me beforehand and feel free to correct me

I’m fairly sure Articulate Aphasia is actually the name of a psychological disorder…I could be wrong. First year psych was two years ago.

Well, that one I know for sure about aphasia, though i’m not sure if there is a particular articulate aphasia as it refers to speech anyway… Ask John. But in Russian aphasia would also be of a female… type? kind? geek, I don’t even know how to call it grammatically as English doesn’t have it. Anna, maybe you know as you’ve been studying languages like French, so you may know how it’s called…

Aphasia is the condition where you forget a certain word… eg, you forget the word ‘pen’ and you know what the item is but cant for the life of you remember what to call it. Everyone gets this to some degree or another on occasion - ever had that feeling that you cant quite remember the word you want?

Or maybe it’s only me…

There’s a form of aphasia where you are able to speak it’s just you’re not making any sense. I think that’s Fluent Aphasia.

Aphasia is a speech disorder comes in several different forms, affecting either your ability to express words or your ability to comprehend words. To be articulate, one needs to be adept in both areas (lol irony).

Well, at least I thought I was witty for about two minutes.

I know that Exspressive Aphasia is the one where you garble your words round…often happening after a stroke…

or you see a 4 dimensional spaceship that re arranges your DNA and makes a noise like knives sharpening…Oh the Symbol…Drink! (If you dont get this bit, don’t worry)

Actually, both names are right.

:open_mouth: Is there a cure?!?!?!?!?

A few of my favourite names (And they are all real. You can google them yourselves.)

The Reverend Canon Ball

Brother Cutherbert Mainly Sidebottom

Doctor Doctor, (he later became a doctor.)

And my favourite, the Roman Catholic Cardinal for Singapore for many years was Cardinal Sin.

Names are very important and the fashion of hyphenation is a fascinating thing… :open_mouth:

That newspaper clipping is pure “Yay!”

Almost as bad as New Zealand and it’s rugby. Where else can one proudly announce they’re a hooker for their country?
