Minutes for NZLARPS Wellington regional committee

Meeting opened at 2 p.m.

    Attendees: Tim Crow, Russ Kale, Malcolm Harbrow, Heather McCaskill, Frank Pitt, Bradley Blucher, Jonathon Davies

  2. Discussion of items

2i. Recent Wellington events

  • Down Comes the Night, Carnival Arcane, and the Consequence day game have all run in recent months. These were all well-received, and have indicated the continued level of interest in the community.

2ii. Upcoming Wellington events - April, May, and June

  • Final Voyage of the Marie Celeste is running on April 26. There are still a few spaces available.
  • Consequence 5 is May 8-10, and they are always seeking crew.
  • As with previous years, Heather has plans to run a larp at Wellycon, May 30-31.
  • The Weave 1 on July 4. Tickets go on sale on March 31.
    Plans to reach out to people who have planned games for the coming months to lock down any other dates.

2iii. Armageddon progress and volunteers

  • Thread in the Discord; volunteer schedule is set, and we have reached out to the GMs of current larps to get advertising materials. Pack-in is Thursday or Friday.
  • Russ has forwarded all information on pack-in and schedules to Heather.

2iv. Gear shed progress

  • Big pile of doom is done, a lot of stuff is out on loan, now is a good time to try and do a follow-up day while there is space.
  • Planned follow-up day: April 25th. Further details to be made public soon.

2v. Do we make the calendar a national one?

  • Generally yes. We have reached out to National Marketing to have the admin email switched over.
  1. General business
  • Membership payments. There have been some noted delays with payments being processed, which means some new members are missing out on the benefits of membership. We can have people at events with a bag of cash and a clipboard to take memberships, and this might bypass some of the processing issues with payment. Russ will do this for Marie Celeste in April.
  1. Matters arising for future
  • Regional committee meeting being scheduled for June.
