Fees
a) Could memberships last a year from month of issue. Some people are put off joining by the “membership year” approach.
b) The size of the student discount – is it larger than it needs to be? It’s much larger proportionately than the discount given by, for example, Mordavia. Would students still join if the yearly cost was $15 rather than $10?
c) Should membership discounts be extended to other beneficiaries? -

Financial Update by Steve
The treasurer has not been given claim forms yet for the space-suits or the generator. He also needed an estimate of current gear value from the Gear Officer, which has now been given.
The accounts are fine, in the black with $650 profit, but the accounts are a bit messy because of changing banks and creating auxiliary accounts. There has been an overall increase in both funds and gear library under nzLARPS management.
However we may have to increase Mordavia weekend game fees as the camp costs significantly more to hire than Motu Moana. -
Post LARP update: Mordavia: The Candle
This made $45 profit. A couple of people have not yet paid and are being chased up. -
Upcoming LARPs:
Og – Steve – have plot outlines, need to make a couple of pieces of gear, one of which will not be reusable… float of $20 will cover this. Approved. Date was stated as 15th October, which now clashes with Nightmare Circle, so will be moved to Sunday 5 November.
Nibelungen – Craig – ready to pick up again as site option more stable now. Won’t be done before February.
Pirates – Lucy – London Bar is booked and confirmed. Needs to be advertised. Ryan helped with GMing. Also needs to borrow some weapons from the gear library. Website up at chron.ws/larp
Stargate – Julianne – next trial Sunday 1 October, at the Barracks.
Ravenholme – Brian – no word. AJ can’t get in touch with Brian at the moment.
SAIL – Anna – needs to have game date set. Awhitu Peninsula has been another place put forward, with accommodation just $8pp/ night.
No Mans Land – Marc – world needs to be adapted to get away from Warhammer.
Mordavia overnight game, Sanctuary – Nikki – at Huia Lodge. Price Brutus has taken a bride. Starts Friday 2pm, also contains afterLARP till 12pm Saturday. 22nd-23rd September. Needs a dedicated GM. Booking Huia Lodge costs $12pp/night $200 minimum. Will need $100 float for Fri night dinner – people will have to bring their own food for the next day. Cost will be $35 player, $20 crew, $5 discount for nzLARPS members. Motion to accept as Project – unanimous for.
Nightmare Circle – Raoul – weekend of 15th October.
Mordavia weekend game – dates 2-5 December, Stedfast Park, Piha.

The Alleluya Café venue in Karangahape Rd is confirmed.
Other Business will include notifying people that the next (first 2007 term) committee meeting will be an SGM to be held at the Barracks, to vote on changing the membership structure. Also notifying people that an assistant GM is needed for Og.
-
Business Cards.
We looked at the ones designed by Rhiannon and decided to go for the one with just the logo at the top, blank space, and website at the bottom, unless otherwise heard by Sunday. Rhiannon will get them printed on Monday for the AGM. -
T-shirts.
This will be dealt with by the next Committee after the AGM. -
Fees.
- Could memberships last a year from month of issue. Some people are put off joining by the “membership year” approach.
This is not possible because it would mean changing the Constitution. However we have set a date for a SGM to discuss this. It will be the first Committee meeting after the AGM, the first Wednesday in October. - The size of the student discount – is it larger than it needs to be? It’s much larger proportionately than the discount given by, for example, Mordavia. Would students still join if the yearly cost was $15 rather than $10?
There was much discussion about this issue, mainly on the themes of ‘what is value-for-money’, ‘this is a cheap price to join a club and a community’, ‘it may not be valued enough if it’s too cheap’, ‘if you don’t have the money in your pocket you may not join’.
The motion of changing the cost to $20, $15 discount was put forward. 4 voted against, 3 abstained. Motion failed. - Should membership discounts be extended to other beneficiaries?
We decided that in this case ‘beneficiaries’ is to mean ‘full time students, Community Services Card holders, or senior citizens’.
This motion was put to a vote, unanimously passed.
- Other Business
We finally have a Common Seal! With correct writing on this time.
Skirmish is ratified as an Affiliate (6 for, 1 abstaining)
Craig has been designing a website for Nightmare Circle – but who will be maintaining it? This has not yet been decided.
Had a discussion about how to regulate content on LARP pages within the nzLARPS framework. Maybe we need webpage guidelines, like no racism, politicism, etc. out of context, or no content to be considered offensive under the crimes act, illegal content will be deleted without prior notification, or something. Decided to police this on a case-by-case basis of general agreement.
Action Points:
- Make ‘This is an NZLARPS Prop’ stickers for things like Mayday, when we don’t want people to think we are carrying around real bombs.
- At AGM – mention we need an Assistant GM for Og
- Craig – update Calendar on Diatribe!
- Rhiannon – change Nomination Forms to Arial Black font, and divide lines in two for printed name plus signature.
- Notify people that the next (first 2007 term) committee meeting after the AGM will be an SGM to be held at the Barracks, to vote on changing the membership structure.
- Advertise the AGM and upcoming Pirate Game
