Minutes of NZLARPS Wellington Committee Meeting - Nov. 15

NZLARPS Wellington Committee Meeting – 15th November, 2014.

Meeting opened: 2:09 p.m.
Present: Bryn Jones, Thomas Joychild, Russ Kale, Scott Kelly, Mel Duncan, Idiot Savant, Jess Casbolt, Donna Giltrap.
Apologies: Anthony Doornesbosch.

Discussion: Gear storage.
Gear locker was moved from Chris Rosedale’s house to the houses of Mel and Russ.
Discussion of the large items in the gear library (pillars, other ridiculous items). Looking to run a rationalisation and stocktake of the Wellington gear library at some point in January or February 2015, at some point where we can get the numbers. The current plan is to consider hiring a hall, so that it becomes a day of joy, sewing and happiness, rather than a slog through the trenches.
Russ mentioned that in moving the gear, we found that contents of crates were a little disorganised. Some ideas were thrown around about improving this, and will be considered in the approach to future events.

Discussion: Purchases for 2015, gear locker.
After determining that nobody has any conflicts of interest in running other events, we’re all fine here, thank you, discussion was held about replacing elements of the gear locker. Many of the weapons need repairs or full replacement, and this is one of the high priorities, as these are items that are commonly used. Considerations for Hydra included an archery target.

Discussing Hydra flagship – Scott said that it was either the first of the Dry Spell campaign or ‘Sanctuary’. Idiot mentioned that as part of his ongoing game-scamming campaign, he was looking for games that could be run in New Zealand from elsewhere, especially American games.

Upcoming campaigns.
Nick Wolf’s ‘Eldleaf’ has dates booked.
‘Broken Gods’, ‘Dry Spell’, Chris Rosedale’s game, Fraser Peat’s game. All of these have been offered, but ‘Broken Gods’ has been placed on hiatus, and no firm dates on any of these have been selected.

Discussion: Aethercon
Timetable is being worked on for people running the table, but volunteers are prepared. Payment has been made, and we are working on promotional material. None of the new campaigns are looking to advertise currently, so that’s fine. Promotional material will be explored over the next few days.

Meeting closed: 2:59 p.m.
