Financial update
A financial report will be done by the AGM. -
Previous larps
St Wolfgang’s Vampire Hunters – Brought in a lot of new larpers! The game made $95, which was pretty great considering the large props and venue budget. Motu Moana’s prices have gone up and their website is out of date. The printed rulebooks worked well to get more players. Game page at www.nzlarps.org/stwolfgang. The crew gear workshop worked really well, 4 people made 10 viking axes and 10 helms in about 4 hours.
2014 – Brilliant setting, easy costuming. Project needs a good treasurer and/or logistics officer.
Note: any new Logistics Officers are welcome to ask Anna for advice. Also, Immersion is currently running a series of articles that may help. -
Upcoming Larps
2014 – another game coming up in October.
Ravenholme – 9-11 November, Shakespeare Park, Awhitu. The venue is expensive, $1000 for 30 people, which works out to $36 a head. 20 players and 20 crew is the break-even level. Personal invitations will be given out with Immersion. There will be a sewing workshop to make NPC gear.
Ghostbusters – late November. A game from Craig. Promotional material should be ready by the AGM.
New Project:
New Bretonia – The Feast of Saints: a magic and steam punk game of fantasy in the Victorian era. Venue is Camp Sladdin, $112 for venue, $165 for food, $20 candles. 20th January, run by Alan Grant.
Motion to accept New Bretonia as a Project: passed unanimously.
-
Trailer
Money needs to be given to Mike for the trailer, and need in return receipt and copy to give to Lion Foundation. -
Immersion
Immersion has a proper Financial Forecast! The back page has sold to the Company of the Lance, for $35. This set to come out at the AGM.
Have found out that freepost envelopes only come in DLE size, which is no good for Immersion. -
Internet
We need more stuff on the Wiki pages. Lastly Craig will adjust the look and feel of the Wiki site before putting it live. -
Marketing
NZLARPS Flyers need to be made, to put with Derek’s mailouts from Trademe when he sells larp-safe armour and things, as part of his affiliation agreement. Basically they should have the info from the website on them.
How many Immersions to print? 55 to members, 5 each to Wellington, Hamilton, AMERICA, OWBN, Requiem. That makes 80, and we need plenty left over to go to shops and hand outs. Last time we printed 100. Cost will be about $2-3 per copy. Either we could make 120, or print 100 and do the rest in black-and-white later. Motion: Print 120 in colour: Passed unanimously. -
AGM
To be held 17/09/07 at 7pm, 21a Hargreaves st, Freemans Bay
All nominations and seconds to be emailed to an election committee.
Reminder letter to be sent round that membership is expiring for many people. New membership cards (for prior members) will be available to pick up when membership is renewed at the AGM, as will copies of Immersion, and other game promotional material.
Voting boxes should be covered this year. Not sure about how much seating is available – a couple of us will bring some deckchairs in case they’re needed. Welcome to bring beanbags and cushions.
We will be having a GM Q&A session after the voting, for you all to ask questions of the Game Masters. -
Gear
Mike is not here. He may or may not have made a Gear Signout Book yet. -
Other Business
Printer: This perhaps should be a project rather than a normal ‘expenses’ item, because it takes money for consumables, stuff is used up, and stuff comes out as material we can use. Motion to treat the Printer as a Project passed unanimously. We also decided we can offer to print stuff for affiliates for a cheaper cost than they can get printing elsewhere – eg. AMERICA for their rulebooks.
Action points:
• Treasurer – chase up back page money from Company of the Lance
• Gear Officer– make a gear sign-out book
• Website Officer – update website and Wiki
• Anna – Email list AGM and membership renewal reminders
• Adam – sort out voting boxes
• Anna – talk to Nikki about getting discount from Mono Graphics
• Anyone – make NZLARPS flyers for Derek’s distribution service
• Everyone – Submit stuff to Wiki
