Financial update
We have money. We still intend to spend some of it on a trailer. -
Previous larps.
AJ has been hunting Lucy about money from Pirates Larp – she says she has $30 for us, but still needs $15 more to come in from three people.
Nightmare Circle was in Albany – apparently they didn’t go to the graveyard, but 6 players got eaten, and the other three got away but can’t come back. -
Upcoming larps.
Ravenholme: Brian is working on script and the game. Mike has transferred money for props. There are not very many people signed up to play yet – only two paid and 3-4 confirmed but not paid. They would ideally like at least nine and hopefully twelve players.
Next Nightmare Circle – player places limited, get in now! Going to institure bonus XP for helping to clean up afterwards. There is also a new game idea.
Great Battle – under development.
SAIL – Come back next summer!
Nibelungen – looking at other stuff to do with spaceship, eg ‘Couples in Space – the Love Boat/Ship’
Stargate – the GM’s went and looked at the site and are now plotting.
Skirmish – new rules etc. Still running semi-regularly.
OWBN – Chris still isn’t answering emails.
Unity – may have found a place – but need a couple of props which will take ages to make. Provisional date in June?
Quest Waikato wants to run three modules this year. Alista says the next one will be ‘Gobbo Hunt 7’. They may also be running a LRP Convention, kind of like a camp. We may be able to help out by taking some gear down (and participating).
5: Membership problems. New people are apparently having difficulty contacting the secretary, who admits she hasn’t had any emails from people since the site was moved. After tests it appears that the secretary_at_nzlarps.org email address wasn’t getting through to the right place. Hopefully that will soon be fixed – if in doubt send to rdayking_at_yahoo.co.nz instead.
-
Project flow diagram
AJ has done one but it is in his other folder. What we don’t have is a closing report – for after game wrap up issues. -
Kath – growth strategy.
Basically she likes Craig’s ideas but they didn’t get too long to talk. Another time. -
Trailer and Funding
Adam hasn’t been able to look at it yet – apparently there are a lot of things that have to be done before applying. -
Internet
a) Craig’s new managed site is being tested.
b) Steve hasn’t worked with any Wiki sites before, he will need to talk with Craig. -
Moving meeting
We decided to put this issue online with a poll. -
Other Business.
Webpage for Immersion needed.
Saw a preview of the Ravenholme card. We discussed who should pay for cards- and discussed that NZLARPS strategy needs to change from ‘promot\ing games’ which is working well, to ‘promoting membership’ which is struggling. The society can afford to pay for cards. The idea put forward was that NZLARPS would pay for cards for projects. We would set up cards for affiliates, with the NZLARPS logo on the back, but the affiliates would have to pay for the printing themselves (probably easier to do it at the place we will be doing the rest).
We need to give potential larps an incentive to be a project rather than an affiliate.
We also need to look for other shops to distribute our magazines and cards, or that might affiliate and give us discounts – for example costume shops, Geoffs, hard-to-find bookshops.
Action points:
• Craig – find and photoshop pic of AJ for inside page of next Immersion saying “GAME UPDATES DAMNIT!”
• Craig- check secretary’s email connection
• Anna – write stuff for Immersion webpage
• Rhiannon – update Excel project document with descriptor comments
• AJ – get project flow document to Craig
• Adam – send affiliate docs to AJ
• Craig – poll for committee meeting date
