Minutes from NZLARPS meeting dated Tuesday the 02 of May 06.
Meeting opens at 7:20pm:
Present: Adam, Craig, AJ and Nikki
Apologies: Rhiannon, Mike, Lucy and Steve
Accepting previous minutes:
· Adam motions and seconded by AJ
· All present are for accepting them but we need one more vote for quorum so it was decided to post a poll for this on Diatribe.
Appointing AJ as the new Project Officer:
· Adam motions as above and Nikki seconds
· Once again we need one more vote and this will be posted on Diatribe as a poll.
· Discussion as to what it means to be a project officer was entered into and it was suggested that AJ (if voted so) should have access to everyone’s backstage forums on Diatribe but only with the permission of the game creators. Project Officer should be a liaison with all the games that are affiliated and projects of NZLARPS.
Post LARP Review:
· Mayday: Profit of $60. Also there is a website styled as a TVNZ website that has actual footage from the game. This website is accessible through Diatribe. This LARP can be run again and GM documentation can be made available to people who are interested. Mayday was very Player driven and seemed to be enjoyed by all.
Upcoming LARPS:
· Warhammer: Paddywack is looking after the website creation for the game. More information not available at the moment.
· Nibelungen: Needs a new name possibly and no budget available as of yet. Craig needs people with certain skills to help organise this LARP. He needs a programmer, someone who can draw or a conceptual artist especially when it comes to space ships and an electronics expert.
· Nightmare Circle: Raoul is looking at options in terms of affiliating or becoming a project of NZLARPS. Players are to contact Raoul or Porl if they want to play. Weekend game coming up on 19-21st of May. Documentations for affiliation or becoming a project will be taken to Raoul as soon as possible by AJ.
· Stargate: A lot of debate on Diatribe about skill based LARPS and what the weapon system will be for this LARP. Julianne would like a meeting with key organisers and others to flesh out the game system and rules. Julianne needs a backstage forum on Diatribe.
Website:
· Website for NZLARPS is well underway with much input from Ryan Paddy.
· Craig would like at the next Gears Workshop or similar event if someone could help him with some of the administrative tasks of the Diatribe website as many of the current listed members are fake.
Publicity:
· Armageddon could be good place to get a stall. Need to look into possible discounts.
Newsletter:· Need to get one out soon and also look at recruiting for NZLARPS in the Newsletter.
Other Business:
· Mystery LARP: Craig advised us of an idea he had for a LARP that is a one off and that requires players not to know what they are coming for. Nikki liked this idea very much and offered to organise it and also extended the idea of having a Mystery LARP regularly where someone would organise a one off LARP that players would come to not knowing what type of LARP it will be. This is a good way for players to experience different type of LARPS.
· The question was raised that once more and more LARPS join NZLARPS that we would need a bigger storage space for all our gear. It is not an issue at the moment but should be something that should be reviewed in a few months.
Action Points from above:
· Craig to continue working on NZLARPS website
· Craig - Newsletter needs to be put out before Nightmare Circle.
· Nikki – to fix NZLARPS common seal.
· Craig- To set up backstage forum for Julianne and her Stargate LARP.
· Nikki- To start advertising Mystery LARP.
· Adam – To put up thread to get extra vote for motion to make AJ new Project Officer.
· AJ – To get required documentation to Raoul so that Nightmare Circle can be considered as affiliate or project to NZLARPS.
Next Meeting date to be decided online.
Meeting closes at 9:30pm.
I am still having difficulty finding the most recent posts on Diatribe because of the login/logs out/login again problem. Even if I go right to the login page. Grrr. So if anyone has something they particularly want me to look at they’d better tell me what and where it is.
