Memberships

The database is as updated as I can make it. There are several people that have applied on the database, but I can’t find any record of payment. If you are one of these people and you think you have paid, can you please email me nzlarps.secretary at gmail.com

and let me know when you made payment.

Also at Chimera I received payment/spot prizes from the following people that have not registered in the database:
Jennifer van der Lee
Cheryl Frederick
Andrew Hart

Can you please sign up so I can update your memberships? http://nzlarps.org/database.php?mode=register

Also, at Chimera 6 memberships were won as spot prizes, but only 3 people told me about it, so currently all you won was a pretty laminated bit of paper. Could the winners please contact me?

A lot of people sign up around the AGM, so if your membership is expiring, please renew so you can vote. You don’t need to wait for your membership to expire, as it will be added onto your current membership.
When you make payment, please pay into the National account - 02-0290-0086913-001, not the Auckland one. Payments into the Auckland account tend to get lost amongst all the payments for Teonn and Chimera etc, plus I then need to transfer them into the correct account. Please also include your name and that it is for membership on the transfer. This makes it a lot easier to process.

Thanks

Here’s a list of people who are marked in the database as current members who fall within the Auckland branch (includes Hamilton, etc). I’m listing them here because not everyone will take the time to log into the database to check their membership status. If you want your name removed from this list for privacy reasons, PM me. If you want to know exactly why you’re not on the list, PM the national secretary (or post below and ask if you don’t mind everyone hearing the answer).

Note that several people who have been nominating or standing don’t appear on this list, I’ve double-checked them to ensure it’s not a typo on my part. Those people aren’t officially eligible to stand/vote at this time. There is a possibility of typos in other cases, so yell out if you think it’s wrong (I need to write some code to produce these list automatically without the human error factor).

The AGM is on Wednesday 28th September, I’ve noted the memberships that will expire between now and then and so will need to be renewed in order to be eligible to nominate/second/stand/vote for positions.

If you fall in the Auckland branch region but are not on the list above, then you are not eligible to vote in the Auckland and National AGMs. Your membership may have expired, or you may have applied but no payment has been received, or you may never have been registered as a member. If you aren’t listed but want to vote/stand/etc, then please contact the national secretary Rowena as noted in her post above.

The same kind of list but for Wellington branch members can be found in the Wellington AGM thread.

10/09: added Adam, Luisa, Zara. Removed Daphne who should be on Wellington list.
10/09: corrected Adam’s surname, added Michelle.
11/09: removed Kerry, expired
13/09: updated Zara’s name
27/09: removed Dave Luxton, Rowena Knill, added Kerry Pellet, Michael Andrew

Hi
I think I need to be on the Wgtn list, as I’m in Chch.

This needs to be updated - possibly a facilitation thing.

Cool, have updated with a note at the bottom on who has been added and removed.

Will continue to update when I see changes, post if I’m missing something.

I think you have a typo there, should be Adam Parsons, not Adam Weller.

Michelle Burt’s payment also came through this morning, I expect that no more payments will show until after the weekend now

Thanks. Again, I should really automate this. I guess that might be useful to get done before the AGM, so we can instantly generate a definitive list for a region and nationally.

Yeah, That’s one thing I don’t like about the database - it was easier to copy a list of people from the spreadsheet. It’s rather time consuming at the moment. That said, you have done really good work on improving the database Ryan

What this calls for is an export function.

That’d be nice to have too, we could export it as a CSV that can be opened in Excel so the committee members can analyse member data any way they wish.

Although getting a straight list of who is a current member for each region would also be very convenient to run on voting day, so export and analysis isn’t required.

Now that I think of it, perhaps people who are managing current society projects should also have access to a straight list of who is currently a member (without all the contact details and other admin functions), so they can determine for themselves who is eligible for membership discounts when people are paying for events. We already have all the info we need to work out who fits this category. Or perhaps all members should be able to access a straight list of the names of other current members, rather than restricting it to project managers?

That would be quite useful.
On the event management page, there’s already a list of people who’ve signed up - maybe put in a flag on that list?

I’ve updated the NZLARPS database. Made a simple list of name and branch of all current members visible to all members. Log into the database and click “NZLARPS members” on the right. You can sort by either name or branch by clicking the column title. This should facilitate projects and affiliates who offer discounts to members being able to tell whether people are current members.

For all committee members, you can now filter the user list to only show current (Verified) members, by clicking “only show members” at the top of the list. The usual committee functions of being able to view each user’s profile and their membership expiry date are still available (these aren’t visible to non-committee members).

Just for Steph, I’ve added a column on the event management page that shows whether people who have registered for an event are current NZLARPS members.

I think that’s enough to make finding out who can vote at the AGMs easier, we can just look at this list of current members on the day. Will do an export function later. At some future date we may also want to allow members to choose to display contact details or other info like pictures of themselves to other members using the new members list, just to facilitate members getting to know each other and being able to reach each other.

Zara Kinzett

10/09 EDIT 2: corrected Adam’s surname, added Michelle.
Should be Zara Parsons.

Fixed, and belated congratulations.

I would update her name in the NZLARPS database too, but that requires putting in her password. Which is rather silly really, I had forgotten I need to change it to allow the committee to keep people’s details up to date. So Zara, if you’d like your surname updated then you’ll need to log in and do it.

I have a password? O.o

Sure. Go to www.nzlarps.org and click the “forgot password” link beside the Login title on the right. Enter your email address and it’ll send you a random password to log in with. Then you can edit your user profile and change the password and update your name.

membership paid for with online transfer on the 23rd of sept 2011, and have sent email casting of vote. as i won’t be able to attend the meeting this time :frowning:

I’ve updated the list on the first page of this thread. Looks like your membership is still being processed David, but I imagine we’ll get a very clear list tomorrow night.

Memberships up to today have all been processed on the database with the exceptions of:

Jennifer van der Lee
Cheryl Frederick
Andrew Hart
Mel Duncan
Miranda Eckford

who are all members but have not registered on the database. I could register for them, give them a default password, but I do not have an email address for any of them either.

The following people have all applied on the database, but I have no record of payment from them:

Charl Van Zyl
Charlie Mismash
dan milne
David McKenzie
Frederick Conquer
kane spindler
Maxim Bugaev
Nicola Faulkner
Stephanie Cybart
Terrence Moses
tobias andre

If you are one of these people and you believe you have paid, please contact nzlarps.secretary@gmail.com with the approximate date of your payment so we can follow up.

If you are in Auckland and wish to join, you can pay cash before the meeting and you will still be eligible to vote.
