Mage game on the heels of Nexus - North Shore

Hello all.

This is just so that people who are interested know that this is happening, it’s always good to keep everyone informed.

This is the final year of a world of darkness mage game known as Nexus, which ends in December.

I plan to run a low powered version of it at the start of next year (i have permission from the Nexus GMs to use their rules) in Takapuna on the North Shore.

I am currently gauging interest, and know that this is not ideal for a lot of LARPers. But if any of you out there are on the Shore and would like to play, please comment here just so i know about numbers within the next couple of months - the game is actually being run for a bunch of people at Redzeed gaming store.

It’ll be slightly different to a normal WoD, with a few custom rules to make things easier and less complicated for all involved.

(For those who know the system well, by low powered i am capping arcana at the 3rd dot and Gnosis at the 1st dot for at least the first year to year and a half, and character creation cannot exceed the stock standard sheet instructions for a mage. The gnosis Merit will be banned).

I am also looking for potential GMs with experience in WoD, depending on how much interest is shown.

Of course, if interest is high and you need another GM, I am a sucker and will probably volunteer to help, depending on just how busy next year is.

Will be studying next year, but will def make time for this. Though I do live out west, so depending on schedule it will be hard to get there by 6pm or so.

I thought there was a nWoD Vampire game already taking Nexus’s place? It was one of the reasons we didn’t put changeling up for that night? might be worth confirming that or there will be an unwanted conflict.

I hadnt heard anything about either, im just running a game in a gaming shop in Takapuna for some DnD players and wanted to make sure people know about it.

I don’t know who is running this Vampire game it was just what we got told when we made noises about Nexus finishing and freeing up a weekend :stuck_out_tongue:

Perhaps some one else knows more?

Whelp. Some people will love Mage and some people will love Vampire if that is the case. Are you actually planning on running a monthly LARP as well Jordan? Or just the tabletop side of things?

P.S: Yes there has been talk of a nWoD Vampire LARP picking up from Nexus next year. It’s not me running it though, so I can’t say anything about it. But I’m excited to be back to playing in a nWoD vamp game (personaly prefer the more open “your city, your world, your way” setting to the old)

Also Nexus is a day game, Changeling could always have been played that evening.

Im not ruling out the possibly of this being a monthly this early in, but if it is i will find a way to make it work. At the moment it is planned to be only scenes, but if there was enough interest i’d have monthly games.

I dont know at the moment.
