NNNNnnnnoOOOoooOOOOoooOOOoooOOO!!!
But sluggy’s ok.
Sluggy is awesome, 'specially ANYTHING with bun-bun in it. but I agree, sailor moon LARP is just an evil concept.
Especially sinse it looks like cross play sailor moon LARP. UGGGGGGGGHHHH
considers dressing up in Sailor Moon gear
…nah.
On a (kindof) separate note: crossplay all bad.
one word
Smurfs

I’d be so tempted by a smurf larp. Especially if there were giant mushroom houses with doors and windows and chimneys.
Blue skin, big round noses, silly white hats. What could be cooler?
Might be a bit tricky with the gender ratio, though.
I remember a martial arts camp I had where it looked very Smurf-esque: most of us in blue uniforms, running around a tree, with the Mama and Papa smurfs in white and red uniforms.

maybe we should move this to game ideas then
shit and i was tryin to be funny
hey how about this for a larp then blonde bikini babes who have never seen a male and have over loaded sex drives
hey… he liked the smurf idea… cant blame a guy for trying
What about a larp based on Troma films. you woudl get your bikini girls then, but with loads of cheesy nastyiness as well. Toxi would be so much fun to play at a larp.
do the crew play the snakes?
or are the snakes PC characters
We’ve already had anime LARPs thanks!
The Final Fantasy one had some good costumes! My character was based on Auron, so I got to make a ridiculously huge sword.
Here’s my LJ Post on in it : http://mundens.livejournal.com/132069.html
And remember in Sailor Moon the guys don’t have to dress as Sailor Scouts, there are cool guy costumes like Tuxedo Mask’s!
LARPS that should never be:
Dating game show LARP
Accountants and Lawyers LARP
Ken and Barbie LARP

Damn, I like ALL of those ideas.
Especially Ken and Barbie. Anyone got a bright, clean suburban home with parents away? I’m thinking something like Ryan’s ‘Tryst’ game where a young, perfect couple acts out the domestic fantasies of two little children… could get dark.
In the sense that it’s set in an almost-normal modern environment, I take it. Not in the sense that Tryst is about characters that are actually children’s toys, which it’s not. Just to clarify.
I get what you mean though, there’s potential in a children’s toys game especially if you take a strong angle on it. I think that’s true of any subject matter.
A dating game show larp could be hilarious, although possibly a bit limited. It’d need “something else” to bring it up to speed, I think.
An accountants & lawyers larp where they just do their jobs and it’s normal could be tricky to make interesting. But a law larp based off all the super-real popular legal programs on TV could work. Boston Law, Ally McBeal, etc. Wacky lawyers, even wackier clients, bizarre crimes, dramatic court cases, etc. The hard part would be representing the legal expertise and research. You’d need some way to represent that stuff without everyone actually having to be legal experts. Maybe have an “assistant” who actually has a working knowledge of the law and can advise. You could have multiple firms, with both the defense and prosecution firms being PCs, etc. Court cases make good finales.
I thought about a game based on “Vampire the Masqurade” where all of the players are chartered accountants trying to convince people that they are not chartered accountants.
Come to think of it, I know more vampires than chartered accountants.
yeah i just though about it and really how would you tell the difference
what about lawyers pretending to be normal, kind, and altogether loving human beings.
Nah… now i am in the realms of true fantasy

My mum told a joke to a lawyer the other day that you might like.
What’s brown and black and looks great on a lawyer?
A rottweiller.
Don’t blame me, blame her. And Rhiannon’s dad. He’s the one who comes up with these horrors.
I love it! The house would have to be super-cleaned up to make it look all cut out and magaziney. Maybe some extra injections of pastal colours, a few fluffy white dogs. Pony in the back yard having a ride in the bright pink beetle car…
Seriously, though, that sounds intruiging. It couldn’t be exactly realistic to what kids might play though, because the young perfect couple would have to kiss by whacking their faces together and have sex by repeated WWF-style body-slams. If what I remember from my days watching kids play barbie are correct, anyway. I seem to remember the dolls ending up being melted and hung a lot
