LARPing on the East Coast

Tena Koutou Katoa! This is T.K.
Just wondering how all this works. Here on the coast (East Cape) we are learning the basics of LARP from weapon construction to Walkie Talkie use in directing encounters. I have been involve with LARP fo many years now, my first outing was with Alista Fow in the early 1990’s. The rule set we are using is KIL Quest III (2010). I believe Anna has a copy. It should be availible as a PDF from RPGNOW as of March. It is currently available in book form from Mark 1 in Hamilton. I am wanting to find out if our group can affiliate with NZLARPS. IS that a possiblity?

Wicked!

Howdy T.K.!

I’ll let someone from the National Committee answer your questions on affiliation, but I can tell you that getting involved with NZLARPs has been very good for Wellington.

Lots of support and guidance is available to you, and all of us are keen to see LARP growing across different parts of NZ (see, it gives us excuses to go on holiday and visit other parts of NZ!)

Anyway, just wanted to say hello and yay!

Tena koe T.K.

Becoming an affiliate is pretty straightforward, and I’m sure the National Committee will contact you shortly with details.

Where abouts do you play on the East Coast ? My sister got married in Waipiro Bay last year (she married a Mato), so I’m keen to get back down there again, the scenery is breathtaking.

Looking forward to checking out your rules when they are up online.

Hi T.K., welcome to Diatribe! It was lovely to meet you at Chimera last year, I hope we will see you again!

Your group is certainly most welcome to affiliate with nzLARPS, we would love to support your larping on the East Coast. The affiliation document is available online here: nzlarps.org/affiliates.php and I am happy to answer questions you may have. Please don’t treat the form so much as an “application”, all it is meant to do is give us an idea of what we can do to help you, and if there is some way in which you can help the society out, which can be as simple as promoting other events to your regional group, so we can keep integrating and building the New Zealand community
