Larp post-thoughts

I’ve noticed that in some parts, it’s common for larp creators to write an article after their events that’s combines an explanation of what the larp what intended to be about with a critque of how it actually went and ideas for the future.

I think this might be a valuable kind of self-reflection, and allow other people who want to run larps to learn from other creator’s experiences.

I’ve most often seen it used for one-off concept-driven events - something like Craig’s commie larp is a clear example of that sort of thing. It’s probably less relevant to write afterthoughts on every single event in a campaign like Mordavia, but might be relevant to write one for an overall campaign when it’s finished.

Just a thought. I reckon it’d be good to have a bit more constructive self-criticism going on. Most of the larp afterthoughts i’ve read in from NZ events are unstructured “I liked this bit” stuff from the players, which is valuable but doesn’t give a cohesive picture of overall intent and outcome.
