LARP grade first aid

I’m going to run a first aid course specifically geared at LARPing: “LARP-Grade First Aid”.

This is a blend of both workplace first aid and outdoor first aid, enabling you to know what to do if an emergency arises at any of the types of LARPs we regularly run.
It will be held in the afternoon, 12:30pm-5:30pm, on either Sunday 24th of Feb, or Sunday 3rd of March, date to be confirmed at the start of February.

There is no cost for the event, but please bring some food to share for afternoon tea.

Come dressed in comfortable clothes, bring along a pen, paper and bits of your normal armour, weaponry and accessories. For example: cloaks, sashes, walking sticks and so forth. Full costume is not necessary, but often times what your character is wearing can be used as improvised first aid equipment.

The maximum class size is 10 so if you’re available for either of those dates please RSVP here. If you can’t make it for either of those days please post in here when would be a good time and if there’s enough interest or if the first class fills up I’ll run a second class.

Thanks, Linda, for taking the initiative and putting together a larp-oriented first aid course.

The nature of larping, especially where larp combat is a feature, unfortunately sees injuries occur from time to time. Having trained first-responders is key to ensuring no further injury takes place.

I encourage all members of our community to take advantage of this offer !

Hi all, the date is now confirmed for Sunday 24th of Feb. Please RSVP here as the class size is limited. Thanks!

Heya!
I would be keen to come along, I already have basic first aid but would like some outdoor training too… however, by then I will be 36 weeks pregnant so… a) is there a lot of walking (will we be in the bush…?) and b) I don’t want to take up a space and then maybe not be able to come…
If you don’t fill all the spots can I be on a wait list or something? I don’t want to take the opportunity away from someone else but I would still love to come! (or waddle behind? lol)

It’ll be 90% inside apart from a small excursion outside in the back garden to practice what has been learned (weather dependant). If it’s not so nice we’ll be staying indoors, I’d rather not make the class get sick as it’s somewhat counter-productive. There’s plenty of space so you’re more than welcome.

I’d like to go to this, and my son Charles sounded keen. My daughter Josie (Dove) is interested, but not so keen, so if others’ want her spot then bump her, otherwise I’d bring her along.

I’ll come along

Josie and Charles are both more than welcome, I can always have another class later on in the year if this one fills up.

Great!

Just bumping to remind everyone that the class is next Sunday and there are still places available!

I encourage all to attend. The only reason I can’t attend is that I will be out of the country this week.
