Cheers for the contact details, have sent pm’s now.
Well apart from a chance encounter at the airport, and someone trying to drink me under the table and have their boyfriend tell me strange stories about animals, I didn’t know anyone in the group

Weird stories about animals? How odd.
I don’t try to drink people under the table. It just happens that way usually.

Looking at the two characters you played and their Naivety, Naomi’s character was created that way due to her age and lack of past relationships. Stephanie’s wasn’t supposed to be naive, but more ‘so focused on the family’ and not wanting to face a horrible reality, that she deliberately hadn’t delved too deep.
She was supposed to be older than I am :-/ - though Richard was her first relationship I guess.
She must not have been paronoid or observant enough to notice her situation. Odd for a psychology major, but possible. In the end I was starting to wonder whether she just preferred things that way.
I don’t think I was ever that naive… I was born jaded

I seemed to have written proactive / reactive characters, with the reactive characters not knowing what’s going on to start with. As the game unfolds the proactive characters reveal their secrets to create the scenes. Maybe this was too unbalanced. Only problem is if you have everyone with a dark secret, it turns into a melodrama rather than a ‘psychologically realistic’ story.
But, as far as my character went, all the information was on the sheet - she just hadn’t really put two and two together.
It was a very fun game. Very real.
Man, this just makes me more and more sad that I didn’t get to play.
I won’t be up in Auckland any time soon. Next time you’re in Welly, Tony?
Some good points there Naomi, was food for thought. I’ve taken them on board for the next game I’m writing and decided to not have specific active / reactive characters as much (Naughty and Naive), but spread the secrets around more.
I was worried that it would feel more melodramatic if everyone had secrets rather than a couple of bad eggs, hopefully the balance is right. I guess we’ll see after the weekend.
As for coming down to wgtn to run a game, strangely enough I might be coming down in the next month or so to see friends, so that is actually a possiblity. Will keep you posted.
