So what do people play? Even if you’re not very good. I’m wondering for larping purposes.
I can bang out a few tunes on a piano or keyboard instruments.
And I can write songs/lyrics
But I can’t read music

Accoustic guitar
Electric guitar
Bass
I can’t read music either, but I understand theory and can read tab.
Funny enough, those were the instruments I was hoping for.
You guys fancy making a band to perform at the pirate larp? I’m writing a few songs up with the aim of making them easy for singing/strumming/drumming/banging out, and there are lots of pirately classics out there as well. I think the London bar has a piano, too…
I’ve learnt the oboe for 6 years, and I had singing lessons for a little while.
I play the recorder. Wow, lol.
Err, acoustic guitar, mainly folk stuff. Piano slightly, tin whistle a bit.
I play flute and piccolo and also sing.
Recorder (sopranino, descant, alto) pretty well
Voice very well
Mandolin okay
Violin badly
and I can thump out a beat an an Irish drum
Spoons
Used to play flute and sax. Could read sheet music for them, but that was long, long ago in a high school far, far away. I find most wind instruments have pretty similar fingering and stuff, although trumpet and trombone would probably prove me wrong. I’ve got a wooden flute that might suit a pirate band. I’ve also played bass guitar and sung a fair amount.
What you really need is a fiddler (violin played in the Irish style) and/or an accordian player.
