I just stumbled across this and thought spending a week in a fallout shelter could be an interesting larp…
I’ve been working on a similar idea, involving nuclear disasters, radiation, fallout-shelter style living conditions and all the other fun aspects of nuclear warfare wrapped inside a Ray Bradbury-inspired science fiction plot.
That being said, I think it sounds great. This was more along the lines of what I had in mind when I made the thread (Dis)Comfort. As opposed to a series of physically taxing challenges, I imagined people might be more put off by an oppressive setting such as this.
I love the picture - even in a nuclear catastrophe you’ll be smoking your pipe and reading your paper while the mrs prepares your dinner.
I’d love for this to be run in the Nibelungen, which is a large, convertible space. Hey, do it this winter and it won’t get too hot!
I think your typical fallout shelter was more like 5’ x 9’ by 7’ with a set of bunks, a hand cranked air pump and a toilet that was a plastic seat with a plastic bag under it…
Is it just an image or did you find the actual book?
There was more pages scanned in, but I can no longer find them…
