"How far we have come...." - An NZLARPs Retrospective

Wow I was just looking back on some pictures from the old days…

Some of the newer community members may not understand the leaps and strides LARP has made in the past few years, And that the level of creativity and effort that is in this community is not just a recent thing.

So time for a trip down into the depths of the past with some pics from Mordavia (the game that lead to NZLARPs foundation) and the first big LARP that I played in:

When evil monsters…still looked kinda cuddly (In a jim henson sort of way)

When ears on elves were bigger

When leaders were louder

When NPC’s more Metal

When bullet shaped helms were all the rage (Particularly when stole from dead men)

When duct tape was considered “light armour”

When racial choices from the rules were more “guidelines”

But in all seriousness this last one shows how far the community has come…

Back in the day THIS could be considered to be the “BIG BATTLE” of the weekend.

And now we have more NPCs than the early games had attendants.

I want to just thank everyone that has allowed and helped this community grow into the monster that it is today.

Great set of photos, really brings back the memories

haha, i miss the old yellers
