Help Wanted: Student Director Making Short Film About Larp

A student director called Luke Hedley (who says he’s also an ex-larper and a current gamer) is making a short film about larping, in the vein of Role Models meets Napoleon Dynamite. He is looking for actors and crew to be a part of it.

The shooting scheduleto for Fri 18 - Sun 20 Sept, and auditions are being held this week. If you are interested, contact Luke at lukerative@gmail.com

He has emailed me a copy of the script so if anyone wants to see a copy, post below and I’ll email it to you.

What was your impression of the script?

Given the limited understanding of larp that Luke seems to have, you might want to volunteer yourself (or someone else) to act as advisor, helping get the vocabulary right and avoiding any glaring inaccuracies: plastic swords, larp “teams” etc. Things are funnier when they ring true.

Directors typically welcome expert advisors, and I understand that Role Models took a lot of advice from US larpers. The director also attended some larps and that completely changed how he approached them in the movie, as his previous knowledge of them appears to have come from “Darkon”.
