Hallowe'en interactive ride 29 October

I’ve taken to calling it an interactive ride, but it’s really an elaborate walk-through house of horrors with a plot.

It’s being put on by the Auckland Unitarian Church, in their big hundred year old church on Ponsonby Road. But a few LARPers have hijacked it and are adding their own flavour.

The experience will use the latest technology Ian and I are capable of putting on, which we also make available for LARP games.

Start time currently unknown, but it’s Saturday 29 October in the evening, and the church is doing a bring a plate thing.

A few LARPers hijacked it? You could say that, but you could also say that the LARPers are there because of me (Juliet) who is a member of the church. And it’s gonna be awesome! Craig’s got such an ambitious concept for it- the mostly middle-aged church goers are going to quiver in their pumps and loafers 'cause they ain’t seen nothing like it before!

Oh and as for a start time- the potluck usually starts at 7, with the Haunted House beginning when people are done eating.

Wait… they go through AFTER eating?

This changes everything…

This is all over, and it was really cool. Thanks to everyone involved. There should be photos soon too, but only of the cast.

Malu went through it, I just directed and cued sound and lights backstage. Maybe she can tell us about it…

This was a smash, an absolute smash. Great thanks goes out to Craig and Ian, our wonderful technical crew. There were lasers, smoke, green light, and heaps of cool sounds. And also great thanks to Craig for being the driving force with most of the ideas. It certainly was fun scaring the heck out of my own mother and making a 5-year-old cry! (I was wearing the werewolf costume).
