Greetings from the west

After ghosting the forums for a few days I though I’d better say hi.

Looks like we have some mutual friends

And we though the army would make him harder.

Coming to a LARP near you?

Name is Kham. 20 at heart (3x on the outside)
Play Airsoft with AirSoft AUckland (ASA). >Link<
By day an IT geek on the shore.
AS has been hinted as being light LARP. Some evidence below…

We do take prisoners - Drug dealers ?
On maneuvers - Beach landing

With some of our more detailed sceaniros it feels very much like a LARP.
Of course combat is the primary order of the day.

At Armageddon yesterday.

Also met this fellow. Very much OOC

How may I be of service?

I know a little bit about electronics.
Some of my handywork.

Sites we can share.
The one I think most suitable is an abandoned meatworks.

I will endeavor to make it an event soon and say hi personally

Hiya, Mr Westie

Hey Kham, totally stoked to have you here. I’m very interested in making airsoft larps happen - and I’m really impressed to see your pictures like “We do take prisoners”. Those games look totally heart-thumping and I want to be at the next one, so be sure to let us know the details!

And those meat works… wow. Let me in. Where are they located? What are the further details on playing games there?
AJ, do you reckon this could be the place you need for Unity? Please say yes.

…Actually, I want to know everything there is to know about those meat works asap

Southdown, Onehunga
smaps.co.nz/nz/auckland/penrose/ … ton+drive/

2 Levels, about 50x35m floorspace, 2 stairwells.

rest of details pm’ed

Ah i know some movies that were filmed there!

Those meatworks are totally droolworthy - I’ve crewed/extra-ed on some films and music videos filmed there.
There are not words to express just how awesome they are, and I would miss my grandmother’s funeral for a larp that was held there! (Course, I probably wouldn’t go to her funeral anyway, seeing as she lives on the other side of the world)

…Do they still smell?..

The area we use, no.
But nothing stopping you from importing the scent of your choosing

Hi there. Those meatworks look perfect for some sort of science fiction larp, thanks for the tip.

It seems like larps with airsoft, and arisoft games with some roleplay are getting more common. One of the more interesting ones I’ve heard of in the UK is NEXUS, a cyberpunk game that mixes indoor roleplay without protective goggles with outdoor roleplay with goggles, airsoft, and soft weapon combat: n-e-x-u-s.org/

Be cool to see some more crossover of the larp and airsoft communities here.

Hey Kham

I have played a little with the NZTGA and have had a couple of games at Southdown, it is an awesome site.

I have been collecting airsoft for a while and have about six now, mostly pistols, and one SMG.

good to see some more mil simmers in larps.

welcome
