Getting dents out of swords

I’ve just acquired a new Excalibur sword from the usual guy on TradeMe. But when it arrived it had a small dent in it - I presume due to overly tight packaging.

Any suggestions on how to get it out?

Yeah, unfortunately latex weapons will gets dents if stuff is left resting on them or they’re under some other pressure.

I suspect that when closed-cell foam gets compressed for a while, the foam cells get crushed and deform to the new dented shape.

Dunno if there’s a way to undent them. At a guess, it might take some vacuum pressure.

I have a couple of Excalibur weapons. The denting can be lessened by gently manipulating the foam around the deformity. Providing the foam isn’t actually damaged it should eventually spring back into shape.

Great help.
I actually manipulate the foam around the dented surface and it does the thing.
The dent had gone and the texture of the sword actually turns to its original.
I even used it on my Sword Cane.

I had this happen after leaving one of my Champion Swords from Ryan in my car and something heavy sat on it for about 2 weeks, i took it out of the car and it sort of just fixed it self - im not sure about excalibur though!

Will have to check this out - Found my sword sitting under a box for a few weeks after chimera… I knew I should have listened to the wife and cleaned up my “crap in the spare room” Hehehe…
