Game Ideas/Suggestions

Since everyone seems to be all of the excite about Chimera next year I thought I would leave this up as a thread for all those who were planning on running a game next year or who had ideas for games to run next year. Fire away people…

Or what games from past Chimeras they would like to see re-run (though the size of the convention leaves only limited scope for re-runs)

I’ve said it somewhere else, and I’ll say it again here: If someone is thinking of writing a Lovecraft-inspired game I’d be highly interested in getting in on that. I’ve also got another idea kicking around in my head right now, but I’m not really sure that I’ve got enough there to make a game out of it. Since I’ve never written a LARP before, I’d definitely need some help. I’ll keep thinking about it for a while, and if I think there’s anything in this idea I’ll come back here and ask for some help

As for reruns, I was thinking that I’d love to play in Alamo or Heart of Darkness - but that was before I knew they’d be a combining game (why oh why couldn’t I play in multiple games at once on Sunday morning?! Lousy real world with its real world restrictions). I’d still love to play in them, but I’m not so sure they’ll be getting rerun at all. Off the top of my head, The FARM is another one I could be interested in.

PM me about Call Of Cthulhu. The CoC adventure BLOOD MOON could be modified for LARP with little to no problems.

Heard nothing but brilliant feedback about Quick Bright Things. Everyone who was in it, loved it from what I gather.

I posted it in game ideas , but will post it here as well, see what others think

Set in the 1970’s (lots of flares and disco clothes) this game would copy the basic idea of the 1970’s British TV comedy - Mind your language , in a much simpler time , not PC at all. I have expanded the idea to shake it up a little,a teacher arrives at a night school to teach a group of science students, not realising he is at the wrong school, Instead , (at the school he arrives at) , he is given by the headmaster a group of very annoying , very difficult and (some very hot) foreign language students from many different countries all of whom speak very little English (which he is supposed to teach them) … … When he says , I can’t do this, I’m just a science teacher , some very bizarre things start to happen, and he is literally stuck in a school , during a war he knows very little about (AKA Tomorrow when the war began) with students he can’t understand , many of whom seem to be gifted in some unusual ways…

A very Non-PC comedy/scifi (Being the 70’s there will be some racial jokes, sexist remarks, biggotted ideas, simulated drug use , which will be well established before anyone plays the game)

These people mostly (racially) have been taught to hate each other, but when a threat comes from outside , and when they are under the pressure of having to work together (even though they can hardly understand each other) can they put aside their biases/hatred/religious differences/and lack of communication to survive the possible invasion of a so far unknown aggressor , and how will their gifts affect how they react to this, are there even some that may try to side with the new aggressor against their old enemy… Haven’t quite worked out all the pieces but I am thinking based in an alternative 1970’s with a comedy MInd your language feel, but may turn into something else completely… i.e. Jericho, Falling Skies, Tomorrow when the war began, esque

Could people let me know if this is worth pursuing before I work too much more on it, and if so, if anyone would like to work on it with me, being it is the first Larp I have written, but i am pretty keen.

I’m keen! Especially if it was for Chimera 2013! 8)
