In three weeks I’ll be running The Queen’s Justice in Auckland as part of the Friday Night Larps series.

Details: Friday 29th March, doors open at 6:30pm, game start at 6:50pm running until 9:30pm.
Cost: $15.00. Please bring cash on the day.
Location: Grey Lynn Library Hall. 474 Great North Road, Grey Lynn, Auckland.

The Queen’s Justice is a game about political oppression and rebellion, set just before the French Revolution in a fictional neighbouring country called Ussland. Suggested costuming is loosely French Revolution, but near enough is good enough. Foam weapons and cap guns will be used.

Please note that the game contains themes of torture, political oppression and involuntary prostitution. If you want to introduce someone who is into drama to larp, this would be a good game for it so long as they’re okay with those themes.

Like a fool I forgot to ask for an email address on the signup form!

Otherwise I’m going to have to start sending cryptic messages to all my friends of friends on Facebook whose first name is Sarah and last name starts with D. There are a surprising number!

Sarah D has gotten in touch, so that’s all good.

This game is on this Friday. It’s Good Friday, so most people won’t have to come straight from work.

We’ve got a good number for The Queen’s Justice tomorrow.

Keen for one or two more though, so if you’re free on Friday evening and fancy a larp about the messy personal side of revolution, feel free to sign up any time. Still some great characters available.

Even signing up just before the game tomorrow is fine, the character sheets are a fairly easy read and we’re taking a relaxed approach to costume and such.

I think it’s got great replay value and hope it gets rerun a year or two in the future so I can try it from a different angle!
