Free NZLARPS membership ! NZLARPS trailer storage required

NZLARPS is looking at the possibly of getting an enclosed trailer with sponsored funds from the Lion Foundation.

This will be of use for all larps, but especially great for weekend events. A trailer would provide not an excellent way of carrying gear but as a place to store equipment in a lockable location over a weekend.

The one thing we need to confirm is a place to store it.
So the questions is, does anyone have a property where a trailer could be stored securely and where people can come round and collect / drop off as required?

As an added bonus it is likely the committee will offer a free NZLARPS membership to anyone who can store the trailer.

Note this has not yet been discussed with the committee, but can easily be confirmed one way or the other if you are interested

I imagine the committee would also be happy for you to use the trailer for personal stuff, so long as it’s kept clean.

I’ve asked my mum if she would store it at her place. The catch is that the only space for it is down the side of the house which is currently full of junk. It’ll need to be cleaned up with a number of trailer loads of rubbish taken to the recycling station (5 mins away).

Plus we’ll need to build a pad for the trailer and dig a drain - the junk is catching the water that runs down the drive and there is a serious erosion issue downhill.

Once done, the trailer will be easy to access from the driveway.

Let’s assume no costs to the society. I’ll cover trailer hire, scoria etc.

I reckon it’ll take gang of 8 people about 6 hours to do this, and it would need to be done on a Saturday where the building supplies outlets are open.

Lunch will be included (Mum’s a great cook).

She’s thinking it over, but I’d like to be able to her that the society will come to the party on this.

We need to run a tidy up Mums driveway larp, then we can also charge people money :slight_smile:

I’ll pitch in on cleanup & concreteing assuming dates work. It’s about time I learned how to concrete.

Is the location relatively central?

Well, she’s already running a larp called “The Trailer Incident”, so she may as well join :wink:

Yeah, me too.

Nope, it’s in Massey, about 10mins (non-rush-hour) down the motorway from where I live. Generally, I’ll grab the trailer before it’s needed (which is primarily weekend games) and park it up outside my place a couple of days before the load-in.

OK, Mum’s agreed to this. The exact Saturday is TBC, but we can go ahead and press forward on the trailer funding application.

More volunteers are needed to do this.

I am sticking my hand half way up for helping out.
as I need to wait for which saturday the flag falls on. SO think of me as a bonus helper if you get the people you need out of solid hands up :stuck_out_tongue:
