23,000 pairs!?! but ok, point taken. :stuck_out_tongue:

Speaking of cowboy boots, any idea of size conversions from women’s to mens so I can broaden my range of places to look?

(lots of women’s cowboy boots look exactly the same as those sold for men. Provided they fit, who cares what they sell them as?)

Looking at the picture, it looks like these would be easy to make. Larp armour doesn’t need to offer real protection, so they just need something inside to give the illusion of a metal splint. Maybe plastic, like ice-cream container lids or buckets?

Or just put rivets in to suggest something is there.

Sure. Though I like the look of the last photo, where you can see the splints through the leather. And with thin leather, the internal stiffening will be helpful to avoid ugly crumpling (though that might not be a problem with 2 layers; I may ADOS some leather together to find out.

Time to get me some single-cap rivets and a bucket, I think.

4-5mm leather could be used for splints with 1-2mm as the outer.

It wouldn’t make very effective armour but…
