For your Religious Costuming Needs

And don’t forget to read the writing!

There’s a link to a page that indicates why they’ve started a Catholic kids costume shop.

Some of the children’s costumes they complain about overtly sexualise the pre-pubescent girl models. They’ve got a point.

Seriously, I wouldn’t want my 10-year-old daughter in a lot of the gear in the catalog they linked too.

That being said, I thought Devil’s Bride was very cool if it came with a non-split knee-length skirt, but I think they wouldn’t like it because of the name, even if it was made non-exploitative.

They do have a point…except about the “gangster girl” one…

“A pink pinkstriped double brested pantsuit with matching fedora.”

It’s a very nice mostest outfit…heck I could see a female politician wearing something like that in parlement (sans hat)…hell if it came in my size I’d wear it, and they choose that for a “one of the worst ones” rather than the genie/belly dancing outfit…interesting choice

I was thinking the same thing. I think they believe its been tarnished by being on the same page as the other lascivious outfits.

Or perhaps because a 20s style gangland costume glorifies crime and antisocial (vs righteous) violence ?

Maybe they feel it promotes confusion of traditional gender roles?

But yeah, some children’s halloween costumes are pretty slut-o-riffic. I think Brian and I somehow came to be looking at a website selling kids’ halloween website and were pretty horrified.
