Flight of the Hindenburg and Reunion - November 20th

As part of our promotion of larp at Armageddon, we will be running two larps aimed at recruiting beginners, as we did with The Great Exhibition after the MOTAT promotion. As before, they will be open to experienced larpers to come along and help set the tone for the first timers. Come to one or come to both. Registrations are not yet open, I am posting this in order to make sure the dates stay free:

Flight of the Hindenburg
Sunday 20th November, 1pm to 4pm
Grey Lynn Library Hall
Cost: $10

It’s the 1930s, and you are a guest aboard the airship Hindenberg, the largest aircraft to ever fly. For the airship’s premiere flight from New York a special charity gala is being hosted to raise money for local shelters and soup kitchens. Expect gangsters, dashing heroes, Nazis, glamorous stars and much, much more!

Reunion
Sunday 20th November, 7pm to 10pm
Grey Lynn Library Hall
Cost: $10

The Union of Planets prospered through a system of interstellar travel gates that allowed instantaneous passage between worlds. Reunion is set centuries after the disastrous shut down of the gates. The vast distances between worlds has prevented any contact, and over time each planet has evolved in strange and different ways. The gate on your home planet opened briefly and a messenger arrived looking for help in permanently reopening the gate network. How can the gates be reopened, should they be reopened, why were they shut down, what is in your (or your planets) best interest, how will you seize this opportunity to take your place in history?

Can Hindenburg be played second time? (as if I didn’t have enough of it just 10 days ago  ) With a different character, obviously.

Any idea when the registrations for this are likely to open? I’ve got a friend who has never tried LARPing before and who I’m trying to convince to come to one of these. I don’t want to miss out on a spot for us cause I was late to register  I would have brought her along to Armageddon, but neither of us had any free time.

Technically, registration is already open, although for the moment we’re focusing on people new to the NZ larp scene. Go here:

Go to the Sign Up page, which has details and cast lists, and links to the registration forms.

Personally, I’m happy for experienced larpers to sign up for Flight of the Hindenburg now. Just be aware that I’ll be giving priority to handling queries from new larpers so I make sure they get the attention they need, so you may not get a response before Monday 7th. That will still give everyone two weeks for preparing costume etc.

Lucy - yes, Hindenburg is very replayable, especially given it’s been three years since the last run so a lot will have been forgotten. If you’ve played before just make a note who you played last time, so I know which plots to avoid putting you in. I’m revising and expanding the game with a number of new characters and plots, so there’s also some stuff no-one has ever seen.

Oh yeah - I’m running Flight of the Hindenburg, the afternoon game. It would be great to have a couple of additional GMs as 70 people is a lot to handle. It’s a good opportunity to see the inner workings of an amazing large larp and get practice at running one. Drop me a line at hindenburg.larp@gmail.com if you’re interested.

I’ll get us signed up ASAP  No worries about the wait, just so long as we know what costuming we’ll need before the day :stuck_out_tongue:
