Fallout LARP idea

This is why I should never be able to write as the beginning of the temporary school detox. Let me know what you think…

War. War never changes…

Fortunately for New Zealand, many of the nations that went to war considered it to be of low strategic value. But that didn’t mean they didn’t feel the effects of it. With the mutually destruction of the Earth, the bottom fell out of the economy. Chaos descended and New Zealand fell into civil war. For many years it was brother against brother, friend against friend in a bid for survival. Once the dust finally settled life was eventually able to something resembling normalcy. But nothing would ever be the same again. The residents living in the remnants of what was once Auckland are still living, thriving and surviving…

Factions

The Barony of Ildhafn - An autocratic confederation of tribes and groups, both conquered and willing, that tends to reject the use of technology. Basing its culture and ideals on Feudalism, the Barony rules over Pukekohe, the Bombay Hills and upper parts of the Waikato. They tend towards peace co-habitation they do possess a reasonable sized army in the form of its Knights.

The Technocrats - Composed of the remnants of the New Zealand elite, both private sector and the former Government representatives. They have access to superior technology available before the war, such as advanced power armor and plasma weaponry. Their goal is to re-establish the Government of New Zealand with themselves on the top of the heap.

The Brotherhood of Zod - A group dedicated to the collection and preservation of pre-war knowledge and technology. They pursue these goals with religious fervor, and many are descendants of New Zealand Defence Force survivors. Seen as xenophobic, the Brotherhood believes that they are the sole heir to pre-war technology, bringing them into conflict with other factions. They see the Technocrats as their greatest threat.

The Trade Confederation - A loose collection of communities and groups that reside in what was South Auckland that isn’t controlled by the Barony of Ildhafn and into the Auckland CBD. Under the guidance of the Commerce Authority and the Bill of Opportunities they have established for what passes as an economy in the greater Auckland area. The Board of Liquidators and their agents were feared as enforcers of the deals engaged in by its citizenry and the people they make their deals with.

The Sunset Strip - The Street formerly known as Queen Street as become a place where the people from all of the factions inhabiting Auckland can come to trade without fear of attack or reprisal. Governed by a Council established by an Agreement between the Trade Confederation, the Barony of Ildhafn and the New Auckland City Council.

New Auckland City - A Constitutional City established by a Charter. It inhabits most of the north Auckland and holds some of Northland and a couple of the islands near the coast. It holds a commitment to democracy. It is lead by a democratically elected Mayor and City Council.

Raiders - Primarily nomadic tribes, scavengers, and bandits that rely on violent tactics to sustain themselves and obtain valuable resources.

Stempacks & Other Healing

Any player with an unused Stempack may revive any other wounded player. To revive a wounded player, a live player must ‘inject’ a wounded player with a Stempack. Each Stempack only has one use and brings a wounded player back to one HP. A Stempack cannot stop any poisons from affecting you or save you from bleeding out.

If a player is injured, anyone can heal them with a field dressing. For each wound a player sustains a field dressing can be applied, healing them for one HP. But some injuries (such as explosive damage) cannot be healed by field dressings.

Doctors are the only characters who can attempt “life-saving surgery” when a wounded player is under their care. They can stop bleeding out or help a player recover from some severe injuries (such as injuries suffered from explosives). Their surgery is not always successful.

The Bank

During any event set in or near the Sunset Strip or the territory of the Trade Confederation you will have access to the 1st National Bank; and in any event set in the territory of New Auckland City you will have access to the Auckland City Co-Operative Bank. The bank may be open all the time or it may only be opened at specific times throughout the event; banking hours will be specified during the event.

You can only use the 1st National Bank after you are given a four digit Bank ID Number, and you can only use or open an account with the Co-Operative Bank if you have an New Auckland City Indent Card. You may establish a bank account at anytime during an event when the applicable Bank is open. You may deposit money or other small valuable in-game items into this account. Any money or items inside the bank is safe, cannot be looted, and is guaranteed to your character or a beneficiary.

The Bank box cannot be looted, stolen, broken into, or otherwise tampered with by any character. Stunning or brawling the Banker will only come into effect after the current transition is completed and the bank box is closed and locked. Periodically, however, the bank may need to transfer cash via courier or other transport; this is the only time the banker or any money related to the bank is vulnerable to theft or looting.

Would be very keen for this

Check out “The World that Is” - Forum below, some details are based on the Fallout game, runs in Wellington.

I will. Just posting this as something of a brain fart…

This would be cool!
