"Fake" Spectacles

For one of the characters I’m playing this weekend, I need to be wearing glasses. I don’t wear glasses (or have contacts) normally, so what I’ve ended up doing is buying the lowest magnification reading glasses (yay $2 shops) I can find (+1.00) and I’m going to use those.

In the interests of preserving my vision/not getting headaches, should I take the lenses out? They will look much less like real glasses if I do, but I won’t have blurry vision for three hours either :stuck_out_tongue:

Can anyone advise what’s the best course of action here? On a related note, can you in fact get non-magnifying glasses, for stage/prop use, and if so, where?

Cheers all
Matt

$2 shops often have fake glasses with plastic, non-prescription lenses, so maybe take another look? They’re often with the sunglasses and novelty glasses.

Yeah I found plenty of novelty glasses but nothing that could pass even remotely for real glasses :unamused:

I did exactly the same previously, and faced the same quandary. I ended up taking the lenses out. Since I didn’t want to risk headache. Nobody complained that they were fake. Lets face it we’re primarily here to roleplay.
