Dragonbane

I just had a look at their site, and they have pictures of the actual game up: dragonbane.org/en.

Pretty. I can’t see the actual Dragon, though, [sighs] just plumes of smoke and flame.

Dragonbane is only just finishing now though, so I imagine there will be heaps more photos later.

I’ll be amazed if they got the dragon finished, given that it was still heavily under construction at the start of July.

It was such an ambitious project I can’t help but feel a little bit dissappointed from the photos that are up so far. I mean, it looks great and all, but not like the massive pay-off I was hoping for! But Ryan’s right, this is only the start of 'em coming in.

Friends of mine, came back disappointed about the dragon. Not looking IC and stuff. But over the whole they had an awesome event. ““Nothing like the “game” we play, and this is immersion in it’s true form.”” are things I picked up so far…

Cool, it’s good to hear that the larp itself worked well Tim.

They really seemed to have gotten too ambitious with the dragon. They just wanted it to be so huge and technically sophisicated. They should have set their minds to making it look IC, and ditched any ideas that worked against that - like building it over a truck. They could have either made it large and immobile (the sleeping dragon, or dragon-in-a-cave) or made it smaller and human-operated. Having wheels and engine noises must have been a big immersion-breaker, and they probably spent so long working on the chasis and computer aspects that they didn’t have time to get the skin looking decent.

same words from my friends
they told me that the organization was bad…but the game itself was fantastic

this is an image of the dragon I found elsewhere

Wow, thats stupidly excessive. But impressive at the same time.
