i can bring my stockpile of costumes in a suitcase for the gear room as long as someone can drop them back at my house on Sunday after chimera (new north road, mt albert).
i will even label them so people don’t put them in with the nz larps gear and vice-versa (because hey, if its labeled that could never happen!! right? 
)
i have quite the entourage of strange bits. mostly silly hats, sparkles, feathers and black stuff.
scrap that, i can probably take them home myself, any takers? que?
I think it’s a good idea, but I don’t know that there’s much of a gear room. Only a few of the games have crew, and they might be bringing their own costuming anyway.
You could just keep wherever you’re sleeping - probably easier to keep track of that way!

I just wanna add to that: Keep the rooms locked unless there is someone who is staying in that room for the weekend currently in it. Its not even that I don’t necessarily distrust LARPers, but there’s always a possibility that someone random will come on-site and swipe something then leave without anyone noticing. That sort of thing happens more than you might think!

Well, I’m not playing Bad Dreams, so I have no inherant reason for paranoia.
Security
Jarak may have over dramatised the situation. We have not yet, to date, had any problems with theft within the community. There was an incident five years ago where a laptop was stolen from a Mordavia game at the same venue by an outside agent. The sleeping quarters are all lockable, and the key will be given to one of the people in the room. There is also a master key which will be in the care of Nikki at all times.
Last year we were given a warning by the camp warden to be alert because people do occasionally try to steal from the camp. We made sure everyone was aware of this, and doors were kept locked during games, and we had no problems.
Paranoia is not necessary, “sensible” is advised

I stand corrected!
lucky the combined total of my mass of costumes i only but 10$ anyway since it was all free or from the 2$ shop/second hand.
