Cooperating with Motat?

As i am searching for the perfect venue for my game ‘While We Whait for Stalin’, i contacted Motat and asked them what venues they had available. They where very happy to hear from me especially when i told them what we did (I presented myself as a member from a improvisation based theater group).

The laydy i talked to (Robin i belive her name was) said they had pleanty of great “backdrops” at Motat, and that they are alway keen to help smal organisations. She asked if we wamted to come in and help on some of their themed days and reenact different social groups from different ‘modern’ erras (such ass WW2, Victorian age, ech…).

I straight away though that Motat could be a powerful ally for any future venture NZlarps wants to do, and although they where sceptical to keep the musem open late for me and 12 other weirdos playing drunken russians now, they may be more keen to allow someone else to run a game in the future. Or better yet, they may lend us their heavy artilary guns for a 1890’s War of the World’s game.

They are going to give me a call in a week and set up an apointmend to discuss potential cooperation with us. If I do meat with them could someone from the comity pleas come along? I haventtold them that we are called NZlarps either.

Awesome man. I was passing MOTAT the other day and wished they did more adult audience stuff rather than focussing on kids (also realising the low likelihood of that ever changing). This could be a great in-road into that…

Sounds Excellent, and I would be very keen to come along with you as well.

Sounds great. If we can get a good NZLARPS presence at the meeting, and hand over some pretty-looking paper (Immersion, business cards, even posters, Mordavia booklet, etc etc) then this will all look good. Give them the website address, email addresses, etc.

As an incorporated society we’ve a bit more clout and if we can get access to the place as a venue then all sorts of possibilities open up. Of course, they’re probably hoping for some people to be able to dress and act in-character to add extra colour to their exhibits (not too easy as it would need a lot of historical knowledge to answer questions from small anklebiters but still a possibility). However theres a lot of possibilities for mutual back-scratching here…

I havent heard from motat, so i will call them after Easter.
