So, I have now booked Brooklyn Community Centre on December 14th, for the annual NZLARPs Wellington Christmas LARP.

In a change from previous years, we’ll be running two different games. Game 1 will be the wonderful ‘Monsters vs. Monsters’, written by Hannah Jackson and Scott Kelly, and run by Scott.

Game 2 is where you all come in. The two possibilities are-

  1. A re-run of the original ‘Slash’- I know there are folks out there who still haven’t played it, and I do want you guys to get a go! The blurb:
A hellmouth has opened in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey and various characters from across time and space have assembled to deal with it. Buffy/Angel, Kirk/Spock, Harry/Draco, Mary Sue/Everyone- a very silly and brain-breaking game.

  2. A re-run of ‘Night Before Christmas’, the 1940s murder mystery LARP in the style of Miss Marple. The blurb:
It is December 24, 1948. The socialite Evington-Browne family and guests are preparing for the annual Christmas Eve cocktail party, held by tradition at the family’s hunting lodge in the White Mountains north of Boston. Snow has been falling for days - a blizzard has now set in - and the party finds itself cut off from the rest of the world. This is unfortunate, as the valet of one of the guests has been found dead in the kitchen! It looks like a heart attack - but is it murder?

I’ll go with majority rules on this one, and voting will be open for 3 weeks from today.

Sounds great,

I played the Miss Marple game which I suppose is a legitimate reason to suggest rerunning Slash

Thanks Ellen!

Please to be putting your vote in the poll

Night Before Christmas just seems so much Christmasier.

They both running at the same time?

Yep, both running in different bits of Brooklyn Community Centre.

Well that’s pretty conclusive!
This year’s Christmas Double Feature will be: Monsters Vs Monsters and Night Before Christmas.

More details including number of player spaces to come- sign ups are not open yet, they’ll open in a couple of weeks’ time.
